US armed forces in the Middle East are on full combat readiness, the US Central Command, or CENTCOM, said, News.az reports.
“US forces in the region remain in place and vigilant,” the command said in a statement.
According to CENTCOM, US military aircraft continue uninterrupted air patrols, while warships remain in their assigned areas in order to ensure full compliance with and implementation of all provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran.
A US Navy group of more than 20 warships is currently deployed in the Arabian Sea, including two aircraft carriers, guided-missile destroyers, amphibious assault ships carrying US Marines, and minesweepers.
The US tactical air group in the Middle East numbers around 300 combat aircraft deployed at air bases in Jordan, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as aboard two aircraft carriers in the Arabian Sea.
Among them are F-35A, F-15E, F-16 and F/A-18 fighter jets, as well as A-10 attack aircraft, which were actively involved in the operation against Iran.
