Apple's New Rainbow Pride Band Is 10 Years In the Making
Vanessa Hand Orellana · 2026-05-05 · via CNET

Apple's new Pride bands have arrived, marking a rainbow of milestones as the company celebrates its 10th year honoring the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month in June.

This year's release also lands at a turning point for Apple. CEO Tim Cook, who publicly came out as gay in 2014, is stepping down this fall, handing the reins to John Ternus on Sept. 1. A decade in, this collection feels like both an anniversary and a farewell to the man who started the Pride collection the year after launching the Apple Watch.

The 2026 Pride collection includes an Apple Watch Pride Edition Sport Loop, a watch face, and matching iPhone and iPad wallpapers.

The band is woven from a rainbow of 11 colors of nylon yarn, weaving one color into the next, creating a smooth gradient of colors that seem to move across the band. In the company's post about the new band, it describes it as "showcasing a full spectrum of colors that reflect the unique identities that shape LGBTQ+ communities worldwide."

The new Pride Luminance watch face complements the band with colors that refract dynamically. It comes in two geometric patterns: radial, with rays of color that align with hour marks, and vertical, reflecting the linear stripe pattern of the weaving. Apple Watch owners can further customize the face with additional color options. Matching iPhone and iPad wallpapers with the same dynamic design are also available.

The Pride Luminance watch face and wallpapers will be available following the release of iOS 26.5, WatchOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5, likely next week.

The 2026 Pride Edition Sport Loop for Apple Watch retails for $49.

Apple

Apple began releasing Pride bands in 2016 as employee-only exclusives, then made them publicly available in 2017. The company also continues to financially support organizations serving LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.

The Pride Edition Sport Loop is available to order now on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app for $49, with in-store availability at Apple stores and Apple resellers beginning later this week. It comes in 40, 42 and 46mm sizes.
