A MAN IN his 30s has been charged and is due to appear in court today in connection with the death of Noreen Daly.
Daly was found dead at a property in the Ardsallagh area near Youghal Bridge in Co Waterford on Monday afternoon. She was in her 80s.
The man, who was arrested on Tuesday, has since been charged and is due to appear before Carrick-on-Suir District Court this morning.
Gardaí say investigations into all the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, and an incident room remains in place at Dungarvan Garda Station.
Noreen Daly was living alone in the rural area for some years after the death of her husband.
She was originally from Grenagh, Co Cork, to the north of Cork city, but had retired to Ardsallagh from Dublin where she had been living.
