A GARDA HAS been hospitalised after a patrol car was rammed in Glanmire, Co Cork.
Gardaí were responding to reports of a stolen vehicle in an industrial estate on Monday afternoon.
A spokesperson said that, upon arriving at the scene, the occupants of the stolen car rammed an official garda patrol vehicle.
During the incident a garda was injured.
She was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were sustained by gardaí during the car ramming.
The occupants of the stolen car fled the scene on foot.
In a follow-up search of the scene, two men were arrested. They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in the Southern Region.
Gardaí are asking for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
Anyone who was in the Glanmire industrial estate this afternoon between 1.30pm and 3pm, and who may have footage from a mobile phone or dash-cam, is asked to contact investigating gardaí.
