6 ways to master the 2026 IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the ...
2026-04-10 · via IMAGE.ie

Don't miss your chance to shine at Ireland's largest networking event of the year – the IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2026, taking place this May.

The countdown to the 2026 IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards on May 15 is officially on. With applications for the Awards closed and the shortlist announced, the focus shifts from business pitches to plans for the night itself.

This year is particularly special; it’s IMAGE Media’s 50th anniversary, and we’re taking over the RDS for a celebration that promises to be unparalleled. But while the champagne and black-tie attire are the “wrappers,” the real substance of the night is the connection.

Here is how to navigate the night like a pro…

1. Statement style

This is a night for high-octane glamour where the red carpet is yours to own. With a black tie dress code in a room full of visionaries, your style is your silent introduction. Whether you’re opting for a sustainable Irish designer or a classic favourite, remember that confidence is your best accessory.

Looking for a sustainable option? A few Irish fashion rentals we recommend include Happy Days, Rag Revolution, and Drobey.

2. Research the shortlist

Our shortlist is out, so be sure to do your homework. Are there founders in the STEM category you’ve been wanting to meet? Or a Social Entrepreneur whose mission aligns with your corporate CSR? Maybe there is an Emerging Executive with whom you want to connect or a Start-Up you want the inside track on? Knowing who is in the room allows you to move past small talk and into meaningful “congratulations” that open doors.

3. Bring the team

The IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year stage isn’t just for individuals; it’s a showcase of Irish business culture. Many of the attendees use the night as a high-octane team-building event. Celebrating the career achievements of women like Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Anne O’Leary fosters a culture of ambition within your own office.

To book a table today, email events@image.ie.

4. Power table dynamics

If you are hosting a table for your team or clients, you are the director of their experience. Don’t just sit next to your office bestie. Mix your seating to pair rising stars with senior leaders or external partners. When a peer from another table stops by to say hello, introduce them to your entire group. It turns a brief greeting into a networking win for everyone at your table.

5. The social story

For some, the connections on the night are almost as important as the awards themselves. This means your social media presence during the event isn’t just vanity; it’s a digital business card. On the night, don’t just post a photo of your dessert. Capture a golden nugget from a winner’s acceptance speech. Tag the finalists you admire. By amplifying the voices of other women in the room, you position yourself as a supportive leader in the ecosystem.

To join the curated feed being watched by the wider business community, be sure to tag @image.ie in your Instagram stories and posts on the night.

6. The “Monday Morning” follow-up

The most successful attendees know the event doesn’t end when the lights go up at the RDS. The following Monday, send a personalised LinkedIn note to three people you met. Mention a specific highlight — a speech that moved you or a shared laugh during the drinks reception. It transforms a Friday night “hello” into a long-term professional relationship.

With the 50th-anniversary milestone, tickets are selling at record speed. Make sure to secure your place in the room on May 15th.
