MONDAY

Thankfully, this week I had some time off from my busy GP clinic. The winter months are always intense, so I was very grateful for some much-needed R&R. This particular Monday was bright but chilly, so I opted for my beautiful tweed-style blazer by Aoife McNamara. I am so proud to support Irish brands, and Aoife’s designs are truly incredible and all fully sustainable. I paired it with an old pair of cargo pants from AllSaints and my boots and bag from Bottega. I loved the mix of browns, khakis and greens in the outfit. The brooch on the blazer is a vintage Chanel piece from another amazing Irish company, Luxury Exchange. They source the best pre-loved items, and when I saw this brooch, I knew I needed it. This outfit was perfect for a day of walking around my city, Limerick, and getting some ‘life admin’ done.

TUESDAY

Tuesday’s outfit was all about effortless cool for a day wandering through Limerick’s streets and cafés. I opted for a leather skirt and fringe top from Sportmax, paired with my Chanel boots and bag, and a bomber jacket from Phoebe Philo. This is a relatively new brand to me, and I love her classic yet elevated style. That day, I was visiting my jeweller and friend, Barbara of BP Goldsmith, who is currently working on some pieces for me. I was so excited to see them in progress. The visor I’m wearing is years old from a brand called ChavvyChic. I adore how it can be added to any outfit to instantly jazz it up. Shopping through my wardrobe and rediscovering older pieces is one of my favourite hobbies.

WEDNESDAY

Travel day! I was heading to London for a couple of days with the girlchild – those who know me will know that’s my pet name for my daughter. Although the flight to London is short, comfort is key, so I opted for corduroy trousers from Nili Lotan, a cosy sweater from Anine Bing, an old, reliable pair of Gucci boots, and my beloved fur coat – a family heirloomWhile I wouldn’t support buying new fur in this day and age, I strongly believe in a sustainable, circular approach to fashion, where pieces like this are cherished and kept long-term. The glasses I’m wearing are from Jacques Marie Mage, an LA-based designer known for their beautiful, unique frames. I recently discovered the brand and am completely obsessed with the craftsmanship. Off to Shannon Airport for a browse of duty-free!

THURSDAY

Thursday was all about exploring South West London. It was cold but crisp, so I was glad of my fur coat once again. The scarf is from Hermès, and I think the tones work beautifully on Irish skin tones. My trousers are from Sportmax, tucked into my Gucci boots for that “balloon pant” effect. My top is an old Zara piece, and my bag is my favourite Chanel 25. We had such a great day wandering and exploring – and of course, I managed to sneak in some shopping. This outfit worked perfectly from day to night, as we decided to grab a bite to eat in Harry’s near Selfridges. Exhausted after a busy day, but very happy people-watching. London fashion is endlessly inspiring.

FRIDAY

I decided to dress up a little more on Friday as we had plans to visit Knightsbridge. Harrods is always on my list when I’m in London. I wore a new skirt from Róhe, a cashmere knit from Soft Goat, and my bandana scarf from Kujten. Mary in Brown Thomas Personal Shopping in Limerick has been a pal of mine for years and knows exactly what will suit me when new collections arrive in store. She picked out this skirt, and I absolutely love the design and colours.

SATURDAY

Back home, we went on a coffee trail in Limerick. I had heard about the coffee flight available in the Old Barracks, Birdhill, and it sparked my interest. Basically, they serve a coffee bean in three different ways: filtered, as an espresso shot and then as a short coffee with milk, like a flat white. It was so interesting, and they had a great selection of beans from all over the world to suit everyone’s taste. I wore an all-black look. The culottes and knit are from COS, my jacket is Acne Studios, and the argyle socks are years old from Burlington. All other accessories are Chanel. I loved this outfit.

SUNDAY

Back home, comfort was the priority. Pellador is another Irish brand I’m seriously impressed by – their pieces are unique, sporty and slightly edgy. I wore a matching tracksuit from them and paired it with my Charlotte Simone gilet. My bag is from Balenciaga, picked up on a recent trip to New York, and of course, it wouldn’t be me without adding multiple bag charms. The bag charm trend still has a hold on me. I love how it adds joy and interest to a more basic outfit. My boots are an old pair from Tommy Hilfiger; they’re almost military-style, which edges up the look even more. The perfect outfit to end the week and prepare for the one ahead.
