Created by female-led Irish fine jewellery brand The Diamond Expert – founded by private jeweller Rhona Fitzpatrick alongside her sister Orla, the collection blends expert diamond sourcing with a more considered, design-led approach.
Rather than treating the Claddagh as something purely traditional, the starting point was simple: How do you honour its meaning while making it feel relevant to the modern Irish woman?
The original symbolism remains, but the design has been reworked to feel stronger, more sculptural and more in line with how jewellery has evolved. Two additional diamonds sit within the crown, introduced to represent strength and independence alongside the traditional values of love, loyalty and friendship.
It means the ring is both something symbolic yet personal; not just a gift (though by all means, treat yourself!), but a considered purchase.
There are three designs in the collection, each offering a slightly different take…
Gráinne (GRAWN-ya)
Taking its name from the legendary Irish heroine who defied expectations and chose her own path, this ring is energetic, confident and unapologetic.
Éireann (Air-uhn)
Meaning Ireland itself, this ring carries deep national symbolism and a quieter strength, with a green heart bringing a fresh, vibrant energy to the piece.
Róisín (roh-SHEEN)
Meaning “little rose”, it feels softer at first glance, but still modern and self-assured, with design details that give it a more contemporary, feminine edge.
Each ring is crafted using hand-selected certified diamonds, with options to customise gemstones, metal type and finish. That flexibility reflects a broader shift in how people are buying jewellery now: looking for pieces that feel tailored, thoughtful and made to last, rather than something off the shelf.
And that’s where this collection really sits. It doesn’t try to reinvent the Claddagh entirely. Instead, it builds on what’s already there, keeping the meaning, but making the piece feel more aligned with the women wearing it today.
