Dynamic Yield recognized as a Magic Quadrant Leader in Pe...
2020-07-16 · via Mastercard Dynamic Yield

In 2018, Gartner released its first-ever Magic Quadrant report on Personalization Engines. This marked an exciting time for what was considered an emerging industry, crystallizing the promise of a highly-tailored customer experience into one of real commercial viability. Even more exciting, out of the 18 solution providers evaluated in the report, Dynamic Yield was named a Leader, positioned highest based on our ability to execute and furthest for completeness of vision.

You can download a complimentary copy of the report, here.

We take this as affirmation that our commitment to delivering superior products and services were paying off, we doubled down on our efforts, taking the valuable insights gathered throughout the evaluation process (and beyond), and incorporating them back into the Dynamic Yield platform as well as how we operate as a business.

A year later, Gartner released a follow up to its research, where, to ensure the report reflected the evolving market changes and advancements in technology, it reviewed and adjusted its inclusion criteria. We believe this translated into an increase in the annual software revenue minimum, tackling native vs. non-native capabilities, and calling out additional functions such as trigger marketing, among other attributes. Ultimately, in our opinion, four vendors were dropped from the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant and among the 14 left qualified, Dynamic Yield placed in the Leader’s quadrant for personalization engines yet again

We feel this was truly another amazing signal of both our success in making Dynamic Yield’s vision a market reality as well as our understanding of how to capitalize on emerging opportunities to create more value for the customers who use our technology every day. Especially after our highly publicized acquisition by McDonald’s left many in the industry curious about whether Dynamic Yield would, in fact, continue at the same level of innovation and support we became known for.

But we were confident the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant report would reveal the full story, taking into account an entire year post-acquisition to confirm beyond a reasonable doubt that we are still dedicated to building the best personalization technology in the world. And today, I’m ecstatic to share that Dynamic Yield was named a Leader in Gartner’s 2020 Magic Quadrant report, this time, for the third consecutive year.

Dynamic Yield positioned as a Leader in Gartner's 2020 Magic Quadrant for Personalization Engines

Why we believe we were positioned as a Leader

In our opinion, recognition by Gartner is not just about ticking the right capability boxes. More importantly, it’s about whether or not our customers are able to easily and quickly generate meaningful, sustainable business results from the technology we provide. As their success is our utmost goal, this achievement is an epic milestone in our company’s history, and we feel more even invigorated to meet their needs and those of the entire industry as the digital landscape progresses.

Below, find just a few examples of the feedback our customers shared directly with Gartner about Dynamic Yield which we are sure ended up playing a significant role in our being named a Leader.

On April 1st, 2020

“My overall experience with Dynamic Yield has been nothing but positive! I have never experienced a more professional and helpful onboarding process with any other vendor, and the level of service since has been outstanding. The platform itself has more than met our expectations, and the time to market for new experiments, personalization campaigns, and personalized product recommendations is next to nothing. Dynamic Yield is incredibly intuitive to use and can be utilized by anyone, ranging from non-techy marketers and content producers to the nerdiest of developers.” – a Gartner Peer Insights reviewer

On March 20th, 2020:

“Dynamic Yield has provided our teams with the ability to run complex tests and personalization experiences. But its simple interface and great usability mean that it’s used by marketing and eCommerce teams that don’t have deep technical skills, meaning it’s become the key tool in optimizing our online customer experience.” – a Gartner Peer Insights reviewer

One for the record books

As of July 13, when Gartner officially released this report, 2020 looks very different than what any of us could have ever imagined. And while we’re still unsure of what the future will hold, we feel one thing has become abundantly clear. That is, the ability to tailor digital experiences and quickly adapt to shifts in consumer behavior, be it large or small, has been an invaluable tool for many businesses. This is something I suspect will remain true as we enter the recovery phase, 2021, and the year’s ahead – personalization is future-proof

Before I sign off, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the hard-working, talented, and passionate individuals who helped make this recognition possible. From our Product and R&D teams to the entire Customer Success organization, our supportive network of partners, and everyone who has lent a hand in shaping Dynamic Yield as a company. This recognition extends to all of you.
