Dynamic Yield Announces Full GDPR Compliance
2018-05-23 · via Mastercard Dynamic Yield

[New York and Berlin, May 23, 2018] – Dynamic Yield, the AI-powered omnichannel personalization engine, today announced its GDPR readiness in compliance with the new privacy legislation which goes into effect on May 25th, 2018. By investing extensive resources towards maintaining the highest levels of data protection, privacy, and security standards across all markets, customers can take comfort in launching personalization campaigns with a GDPR compliant solution.

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to any company handling personal data of EU data subjects, regardless of the company’s location. Dynamic Yield serves as a “data processor” by collecting information in order to provide clients, who serve as “controllers,” with the features to personalize experiences for end-users. Dynamic Yield not only meets processor-related regulations but in possessing the highest standards of global data integrity, also offers assistance to data controllers in their own compliance when it comes to managing a personalization program through its technology.

After the official appointment of Jacob Silber, current VP of Operations, as Data Privacy Officer, the management of the company’s privacy program swiftly strengthened around the new provisions. Jacob currently holds CIPP/E and CIPM accreditations from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and has overseen and orchestrated the development of Dynamic Yield’s GDPR compliance program, as well as the implementation of appropriate internal procedures and policies relating to safeguarding data, maintenance of applicable registries, and the support of controllers.

“At Dynamic Yield, we respect the data concerns of our customers and have committed to making sure they can use our personalization engine safely and compliantly,” said Silber. “We invite customers, partners, and anyone contemplating working with Dynamic Yield to discuss GDPR and other privacy matters directly with us. We are devoted to continuously optimizing and introducing improvements based on feedback received directly to Dynamic Yield’s privacy program.”

GDPR has introduced new concepts and burdens that brands haven’t faced before, and it’s expected that website owners will become much more selective about their choice of processing vendors, contracting only with those processors who take data protection seriously.
