HONOR Magic V6 Goes Global With Better Water Protection A...
Ubergizmo Team · 2026-06-08 · via Ubergizmo

Foldables have already proven they are practical, we’ve seen that much with the Honor Magic V5. That is the real angle behind HONOR’s international Magic V6 launch on June 4, 2026 in Malaysia, after the phone’s March 1 unveiling at MWC 2026 and its March 10 debut in China.

HONOR is attacking the category’s usual weak points directly. The Magic V6 is thin, but thinness alone is not enough anymore. According to HONOR, the phone is certified to much higher water protection by IP68 and IP69 under IEC 60529 test conditions, which is still quite unusual for a book-style foldable. This is much better protection against water exposure than many foldables, which have traditionally asked buyers to accept more fragility in exchange for a flexible screen.

The other important detail is the battery. HONOR lists a 6,660mAh capacity, along with support for up to 80W wired and 66W wireless charging with compatible HONOR chargers. For a foldable this slim, those numbers stand out more than the design marketing. Battery capacity is one of the easiest ways to make a foldable feel less compromised in everyday use, and we’re more than covered here: it’s exceptional!

HONOR also increased the outer display to 6.52 inches, up from 6.43 inches on the previous model. That sounds minor, but small changes on a cover screen can have an outsized effect. A foldable is far more useful when the closed phone already feels “normal” for quick messages, maps, and one-handed tasks. Readers who want more background can also look at Ubergizmo’s earlier coverage of the MWC 2026 unveiling and the pre-launch design reveal.

Performance should not be a problem. The Magic V6 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, placing it in the same flagship class readers would expect at this tier – we’ll see how it behaves in benchmarking when we review it. HONOR is also promoting multitasking features like Fast Flex dual split-screen and PC-level Multi-Flex, although software claims like these still need real-world testing before we have a final opinion.

I expect the Magic V6’s success will depend less on how thin it is, and more on whether it can make foldables feel normal and more productive. That is still the category’s make or break test, along with the pricing that locks out a good portion of the public.

The launch price in Malaysian currency is 7699, which translates into ~1900 USD at publishing time.
