BMW recently unveiled the 2027 BMW 7 Series, including two all-electric variants, the i7 50 xDrive and i7 60 xDrive. Now the company is adding an excellent ownership perk: 20% off charging sessions for BMW and MINI EV drivers at IONNA charging locations across the U.S.

BMW owners get lower charging costs without another paid membership. Unlike many public EV charging discounts, BMW’s IONNA preferred pricing does not require a subscription, extra charging card, or manual activation. The discount is applied automatically when drivers start a session through Plug & Charge or the My BMW App.

The offer runs through September 30, 2026 and applies at IONNA charging sites nationwide. IONNA is the charging network backed by eight automakers, including BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota.

BMW says IONNA now operates more than 1,000 charging bays in the U.S., with more locations planned. The network supports DC fast charging and is designed to work with both NACS and CCS connectors, which should make it useful across newer and existing EVs.

The bigger improvement is convenience. With Plug & Charge, compatible BMW and MINI EVs can authenticate automatically when plugged in, reducing the need to scan QR codes, swipe cards, or manage separate charging accounts at the station.

BMW is expanding its electric lineup while trying to make public charging less frustrating. The new 7 Series brings all-electric options to BMW’s flagship sedan, while the IONNA discount gives current BMW and MINI EV owners a simple way to cut charging costs on road trips or during regular public charging.

Owners should make sure Plug & Charge is enabled or use the My BMW App before starting a session at an IONNA charger to receive the 20% discount automatically.
