Ransomware rages on and no organization is too small to be targeted by cyber-extortionists. How can your business protect itself against the threat?

20 Oct 2025

According to Verizon's 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR), no less than 44 percent of breaches last year involved ransomware, highlighting the enduring threat that this form of cyber-extortion poses for organizations of all sizes. Meanwhile, a recent report from Coalition Inc. found that 40 percent of cyber-insurance policyholders that experienced a ransomware incident paid the ransom.

Watch the video with ESET Chief Security Evangelist Tony Anscombe to learn more about why no business is too small to be targeted by ransomware, what the main intrusion vectors are, and how businesses can protect themselves against the threat.

Before you go, learn here about ESET's discovery of the world's first AI-driven ransomware PromptLock. Also, stay tuned for more videos marking Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a campaign celebrated annually in many parts of the world, including in the US, Canada, Australia and across Europe. In the meantime, why not learn about ESET's cybersecurity awareness training?
