Launched by entrepreneurs and brothers Michael and Peter Cioni, Strada will showcase Strada Connect

This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm

Strada is set to disrupt the media and entertainment industry with the launch of Strada Connect, a groundbreaking technology that solves some of the biggest pain points facing remote creative teams today: expensive cloud storage and time delays associated with file transfers.Strada Connect utilizes the customer’s own local computer & storage, offering remote collaborators instant access to media while it remains in place – no file transfer, no file upload, and no cloud storage. Strada Connect will be on display at the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas (April 19 – 22) where the Strada team will demonstrate this technology breakthrough at Booth N2373 alongside strategic partner OWC. Strada Connect is built on top of Strada’s award-winning peer-to-peer networking technology, Strada Agents, which was formally unveiled at NAB last year.

With Strada Connect, video files, audio files, and images stored in one location can be accessed by a remote user and brought into any creative application with a simple drag and drop – no cloud upload, no cloud storage, and no media management. This technology works across cities, states, and continents, even with consumer-grade internet connections, unlocking significant time and cost savings while simultaneously simplifying workflows for remote teams.

“For the first time ever, remote editors can collaborate without spending time uploading to cloud storage, or spending a fortune to keep it there,” said Michael Cioni, CEO, Strada. “With Strada Connect, we’re removing that burden entirely, allowing customers to edit unlimited assets directly from their local storage – without paying to store any of it in a cloud. This is a complete paradigm shift in how creative teams build workflows around remote collaborators.”

Remote Editing Made Easy
Strada Connect is the first peer-to-peer creative editing experience for remote teams. Strada Connect, which works directly in a computer’s Finder window, allows editors anywhere in the world to edit directly off any remote drive without having to transfer any media. This means remote collaborators can instantly and securely access files without having to first upload them to a cloud or spend time transferring them locally. Strada Connect is initially available on MacOS (with plans for Windows support later this year) and works on a variety of storage including internal drives, direct-attached drives, network-attached drives, and even camera cards.

Ryan Connolly, who runs the popular YouTube channel Film Riot, was one of the earliest customers of Strada Connect, editing the short film Work in Progress in collaboration with FUJIFILM. Describing his experience with Strada Connect, Ryan mentions, “The term ‘Game Changer’ is thrown around quite a bit but this is absolutely that. For us specifically, it is really going to solve so many issues.” A more in-depth interview of Ryan’s experience editing with Strada Connect, and crafting the short film, is available on Strada’s YouTube channel.

Strada Connect is a revolution in workflow because – until now – every remote editing tool on the market requires that media files first be uploaded to a cloud and then downloaded or pre-cached onto a remote computer before being imported into creative toolsets. Because Strada leverages its own peer-to-peer connectivity, it can deliver instant access to media directly from the source, enabling customers to avoid spending time or money uploading or transferring files. The benefits of Strada’s unique architecture include:

  • Faster access: removes all upload wait times before a remote team member can interact with media
  • Enhanced security: files can remain in a singular, encrypted location
  • Increased flexibility: enables a “federated” approach to media storage instead of an inefficient “centralized” approach
  • Ease of use: provides an AirDrop-like file transfer experience to anyone in the world
  • Cost effective: leverages computers & storage that customers already own; fixed-rate pricing regardless of customer’s data footprint

The Strada Vision: Redefining Remote Media Collaboration
Strada was founded in 2023 to address the real-world frustrations of creative professionals. Initial iterations of the Strada platform focused on AI-powered media search, but after extensive customer feedback, the company reoriented toward tackling the most critical challenge in video production workflows: media access and collaboration for remote teams. The result is Strada Connect, a capability that not only replaces cloud-based collaboration services but achieves results faster than any cloud.

“We’ve been in the trenches with our customers, listening to their biggest pain points,” added Michael Cioni. “What we learned is that the true bottleneck isn’t finding media – it’s accessing all of it quickly and affordably. As teams continue to collaborate remotely, Strada Connect is the solution.”

Strada Connect Available Today
The Strada team will be demonstrating Strada Connect, and other features of its collaboration platform, live at the 2026 NAB Show (North Hall, Booth N2373), showcasing how production teams can instantly access, edit, and share high-resolution media files – without the need for costly cloud storage solutions.
