and launches series production

This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm

Swissbit announces the successful certification of its new Swissbit Hardware TSE 2 by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).With the completion of the certification process, Swissbit is initiating series production. Initial deliveries to distribution partners and POS manufacturers are currently being prepared. With the Hardware TSE 2, Swissbit introduces the next generation of Technical Security Equipment (TSE) to the market. It will form the future foundation for fiscal hardware integrations within the German point‑of‑sale ecosystem and is designed with a strong focus on long‑term availability, scalability, and stable system integration.

For software providers and POS manufacturers, integration of the Hardware TSE 2 remains reliable and predictable. A unified Software Development Kit (SDK) across all Swissbit TSE hardware generations—from TSE 1 and TSE 1.1 to the new TSE 2—ensures an identical interface. This allows automated migrations while keeping application‑level integration effort to a minimum. Existing POS solutions can therefore transition to the new hardware generation without system disruption or fundamental changes, using the SDK.

Focus on Supply Capability and Scalability
The Hardware TSE 2 is suitable for rollouts in organizations of any size as well as for series integrations by POS manufacturers. In addition, it specifically supports replacement and migration projects for existing installations, enabling a gradual transition to the new hardware generation during ongoing operations. With the start of production, Swissbit has established the organizational and manufacturing prerequisites to reliably meet increasing market demand and to continue supporting partners in a collaborative manner. The Hardware TSE 2 is seamlessly integrated into Swissbit’s Cash Register Notification (KaMel) solution.

Coordinated Migration Across the Ecosystem
“We actively support distributors and POS manufacturers in the transition to the Hardware TSE 2—from technical integration through to concrete field rollout planning,” says Marco Leidl, VP, business development, embedded IoT solutions, Swissbit. “Our goal is a coordinated market migration that simplifies the move to the new hardware generation while providing a high level of planning security for all stakeholders.”

Reliable Planning Basis for Swissbit Customers
With the production start of the Hardware TSE 2, Swissbit is laying the foundation for the next procurement and rollout phase in the market. At the same time, Hardware TSE 1.1 will remain available for the time being, subject to inventory levels and market conditions.

Given the continued high demand in the flash memory market, early demand planning remains a key factor for reliable supply coordination. Through close alignment with distributors and customers, Swissbit aims to ensure optimal availability and dependable execution of planned projects. Distributors and customers are therefore encouraged to communicate their requirements at an early stage to optimally plan upcoming rollout and migration initiatives.
