The Pussycat Dolls Cancel North American Leg of Reunion Tour

'An Honest Look'

Group makes "the difficult and heartbreaking decision" to cancel dates after taking "honest look" at the run

The Pussycat Dolls have canceled the North American leg of their upcoming reunion tour after taking “an honest look” at their first trek in 17 years.

The group — now Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts — announced the decision to cancel all but one U.S. show Monday. While the group didn’t elaborate on the “honest look,” Variety cites low ticket sales that were frequently mocked on social media as the cause of the cancellation.

“Dolls: We want to share an important update with you,” the Pussycat Dolls wrote on social media. “When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”

The Pussycat Dolls’ lone remaining U.S. tour date is a June 6 appearance at Los Angeles’ WeHo Pride. “We could not think of a more meaningful place to celebrate with our fans,” the group said. “The LGBTQ+ community has shown us so much love and support throughout our career, and we’re honored to be part of a weekend rooted in joy, pride, music, and chosen family.”

In 2020, the singing group first announced plans to reunite for their first tour together since 2009 in 2020, but the Covid pandemic and subsequent legal issues scuttled that tour. Plans were then made for the PCD Forever Tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, but demand wasn’t enough to fill arenas … at least stateside: The Pussycat Dolls also said Monday that their international gigs are proceeding as scheduled.

“Our U.K. and European dates are still moving forward as planned, and the response has been incredible, with several shows already sold out,” the group added. “We are putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories, for the fans who have been with us from the beginning and those discovering us for the first time. We’re working hard to create the kind of show we’ve always dreamed of bringing to you. We cannot wait to bring this reunion to Europe and make these nights unforgettable.”

The Pussycat Dolls are the third major artist to cancel tours recently, joining Zayn Malik and Meghan Trainor; Post Malone also cut a third of his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 to finish work on his new album.
