The unlikely duo will collaborate in Welsh director Jamie Adams' latest effort

Following the premiere of her recent Netflix documentary, Kylie Minogue will make a return to acting. The pop singer, who started her career in Australian TV shows, is set to star in Jamie Adams’ forthcoming film Tangled Up in Blue.

The movie, named after Bob Dylan‘s song of the same name from his 1975 album Blood on the Tracks, will also star filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who seems to be doing anything but directing his final feature. Minogue and Tarantino spotted at a restaurant in the Welsh town of Porthcawl, where they reportedly shot several scenes.

Tangled Up in Blue also stars Jason Isaacs, Allison Williams, Sofia Boutella, and RZA, along with Welsh actors Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell, Siwan Morris, and Karen Paullada, as confirmed by Variety. Tarantino appeared in Adams’ last film, Only What We Carry. Adams told Variety he cold-pitched Tarantino the part of a wealthy benefactor in the movie.

“I sent him the story outline and a letter,” Adams said. “I was just very honest about believing in him as an actor. Improvisation, the way I use it, is about being present and reacting organically. He’s one of the greatest conversational storytellers. I thought that would be incredible in character. I didn’t think I’d hear back. But two weeks later, on a Sunday, his agent emailed saying Quentin was intrigued and wanted a Zoom.”

Tarantino has been in the U.K. to prepare his first West End play, The Popinjay Cavalier, which will open in early 2027. The filmmaker will supposedly only make one more film, but said last year he’s taking his time. “I’m in no hurry to actually jump into production,” Tarantino confirmed at Sundance in 2025. He added of the play, “If it’s a fiasco I probably won’t turn it into a movie. But if it’s a smash hit? It might be my last movie.”

Minogue’s role as Charlene in Australian soap Neighbours originally help to propel her to stardom. Her film debut came in 1989 with The Delinquents. Her docuseries, Kylie, debuted on Netflix in May.
