The festivals previously streamed on Hulu and only in the U.S., but they'll be available to stream globally on Disney+ as well

Beyond selling tickets, streaming has become a big part of the business for music festivals, with Coachella’s headlining sets racking up millions of views on YouTube. But YouTube isn’t the only game in town, with Prime Video streaming Stagecoach, All Things Go, and Rolling Loud. Now, Disney+ and Hulu are expanding their festival presence. 

The streamer announced today that Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits Music Festival will stream live on both Disney+ and Hulu for the first time. Previously, the festivals were available to stream on Hulu and only in the U.S., but they’ll now be available globally on Disney+ and on both streaming services in the U.S.

Disney+ and Hulu are available as a bundle, with the ad-supported version starting at $12.99/mo. Hulu is expected to be folded into Disney+ and discontinued as an individual app, but it is still available for now as a solo service. Hulu starts at $11.99 for the ad-supported version, and comes with a one-month free trial.  

“Music festivals used to be experiences reserved for the people who could physically be there,” said Kevin Chernett, EVP, Head of Global Media Partnerships at Live Nation. “Now they’re becoming global live moments that fans want to experience together in real time, no matter where they are in the world. Expanding this partnership with Disney+ and Hulu allows these festivals to reach music fans at an entirely different scale.”

Bonnaroo, held in Manchester, Tennessee, will feature headliners Skrillex, the Strokes, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Noah Kahan, and runs from June 11-14. Chicago’s Lollapalooza will feature headliners Charli XCX, Lorde, and Tate McRae and runs from July 30 – Aug. 2. Austin City Limits, meanwhile, spans two weekends: Oct. 2 – 4 and Oct. 9 – 11. ACL will also feature Charli XCX and Lorde, plus Twenty One Pilots, Rufus Du Sol, the xx, Skrillex, and Kings of Leon.
