Journey Add 40 Additional 2026 Dates to Final Frontier Farewell Tour
Andy Greene · 2026-05-12 · via Rolling Stone

Don't Stop

"The energy has been incredible every night," says Journey founder Neal Schon. "Seeing these crowds sing these songs with us after all these years has been powerful"

Journey‘s Final Frontier farewell tour, which has kept them on the road steadily since kicking off in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on February 28, just grew even longer with the addition of 40 North American dates. The new leg kicks off September 12 in Los Angeles and wraps up November 28 in San Francisco.

“The energy has been incredible every night,” Journey founder/guitarist Neal Schon says in a statement. “Seeing these crowds sing these songs with us after all these years has been powerful. We’re excited to bring The Final Frontier Tour to even more cities this fall.”

Unlike most of their tours in recent years, Journey are playing without any other act on the bill. That has allowed them to play an extended set that mixes big hits (“Lights,” “Faithfully, “Any Way You Want It,” “Don’t Stop Believin'”), with deep cuts (“Dead or Alive,” “Chain Reaction,” “Suzanne”), and even a tune (“Of a Lifetime”) from their 1975 self-titled debut LP.

“The fans have been incredible,” frontman Arnel Pineda says in a statement. “Every night feels like a celebration, and we’re excited to share that experience with even more cities.”

The tour has not come without its complications. The day before it launched, Pineda told Rolling Stone that issues in his personal life nearly caused him to leave the band. “Back in 2024, I said to them, ‘If you’re planning to do a farewell tour, you better tell me, because my issues and my personal problems are getting more intense, and I don’t know if I want to go with you,’” he said. “I said to them I wanted to retire because of my personal problems. No answer. Obviously, they don’t want to find another singer.”

Schon explained that the matter wasn’t that simple. “It’s been very confusing,” he said. “He sent a lot of messages that he was overwhelmed with his personal life and didn’t know if he could do it. But we all signed contracts, OK? So, honestly, I’m signed up for the next two years. I’m ready for it. Really, I have to be honest, whatever goes down, I’m ready to plow through it, survive, and float to the top. I hope that he feels better about things.”

Editor’s picks

The band pushed through their internal problems and continued to present a united front onstage night after night. And even though they will have hit just about every corner of America before the tour wraps this year, more dates are slated for 2027. At this point, they don’t know where the last show will take place.

“This is just a child’s wish — this three-year-old in me, who adores his parents so much,” Pineda told Rolling Stone in February. “I wish Steve Perry would make an appearance. He doesn’t even have to sing. He can just take a bow with the guys. If he doesn’t want to do it, I would respect that. But if he would do that, that would be such an amazing sight.”

An appearance of any sort by Perry at a Journey show, even a quick bow, remains extremely unlikely. But the music Perry created with Journey all those years ago continues to fuel their live show. Their complete 2026 itinerary is below, with the new dates in bold.
