The GreenLake Marketplace handles the full commercial lifecycle from first purchase to renewal. Customers can now transact directly with independent software vendor (ISV) partners on GreenLake.

Ask any IT leader how they buy enterprise software, and you will hear a painful story. For years, the enterprise software buying experience has been fragmented across procurement portals, partner channels, and disconnected workflows. Across industries and vendors, customers discover a solution in one place, negotiate it in another, and then need to work through a unique procurement process for each new solution.

Today, we are closing that gap.

I’m excited to announce a major milestone for GreenLake Marketplace: customers can now transact directly with independent software vendor (ISV) partners on GreenLake. With this launch, the GreenLake Marketplace handles the full commercial lifecycle from first purchase to renewal.

Why this matters

IT leaders are not short on options. They are short on time, and short on the operational tolerance for friction between systems that should work together.

The procurement of third-party software has been one of the most stubborn sources of that friction. Even when an ISV solution is clearly the right fit, and optimized for the underlying infrastructure, the path from we want this to this is running smoothly typically involves separate contracts, separate billing relationships, and weeks of legal and procurement cycles that have nothing to do with the technical decision.

Commerce on the GreenLake Marketplace is designed to remove every complexity. Specifically, it delivers:

  • Streamlined procurement: Customers purchase industry-leading ISV software directly through HPE on the GreenLake Marketplace, consolidating commercial workflows they previously had to run separately.
  • An integrated experience: Discovery, evaluation, transaction, and renewal occur within the same environment.
  • A curated ecosystem: Our partners are vetted and their solutions run on HPE infrastructure across AI, data management, security, and virtualization so customers spend less time qualifying and more time deploying.
  • Faster time to value: Aligning software procurement with the infrastructure it runs on means evaluation-to-deployment timelines measured in days, not quarters.
  • No new vendor onboarding: Customers buy GreenLake Marketplace software from HPE, so adding a new partner solution doesn’t mean adding a new vendor relationship.

In short, HPE sits at the center of each GreenLake Marketplace transaction, removing the structural disconnect between finding the right software and using it.

What this means for independent software vendors

For ISVs, this launch removes friction in two places at once: the customer’s procurement process and the partner’s own sales motion:

  • Shorter sales cycles: HPE is already an approved vendor for our customers, so ISVs skip commercial onboarding that typically slows new supplier relationships.
  • End-to-end financial handling: HPE manages invoicing, payments, and settlement with the ISV.
  • Flexible deal structures: Private offers support custom enterprise pricing with recurring payments or one-time billing.
  • Simplified renewals: Customers can renew contracts directly through the GreenLake Marketplace, giving partners a clean retention motion.

The bigger picture

The GreenLake Marketplace connects customers to a rich ecosystem of solutions, simplifies how software is discovered and evaluated, and now enables the commercial transaction. Even better, the GreenLake Marketplace is open to any HPE customer on the GreenLake, whether they buy infrastructure through a capex model or a consumption-based GreenLake model.

As enterprises continue to modernize for AI, data-driven applications, and increasingly distributed environments, the ability to quickly access and deploy the right software is no longer a convenience. It is a competitive advantage. We are building the GreenLake Marketplace to deliver exactly that.
