We’re coming to the end of Amazon Prime Day, but there are still tons of deals on drones that we’ve tested and love. We’ve been surprised to see deals from brands like DJI, HoverAir, and Potensic. One of the most exciting drones in the sale is the Potensic Atom 2, which we’ve recommended because it features an exceptional camera for a relatively affordable drone.
So we’re normally pretty happy with the price of the Atom 2, but there’s a drone bundle that’s 32 percent off right now, bringing the price down to $325. For that price, you get the drone, plus a remote control, a gimbal protector, a propeller strap, 16 spare propellers, 16 spare screws, a carrying bag, three batteries, and a charging hub. It’s a lot of stuff, and you’re getting the lowest price we’ve seen for this kit on Amazon.
In testing, the Atom 2 drone stood out to us because it punches above its weight. The 4K camera keeps up with the performance of many high-end camera drones we’d recommend for recording video, which normally cost thousands of dollars. The controls, both on the app and using the controller, were responsive and precise. Even the way it folds down into such a compact body speaks to the quality of the drone.
During our own testing, the precision of the controls probably saved us from more than one crash. Despite my amateur piloting skills, I was able to make controlled, deliberate movements with relative ease while avoiding trees, walls, and other obstacles.
While there are cheaper drones out there (especially during Prime Day), this feels like a huge deal for anyone eyeing a drone with a filming project in mind. If you’re interested, though, I’d recommend jumping on it quickly. Prime Day ends Friday, June 26. If you let this sale pass by, you may wind up paying more down the line.
