SwitchBot’s 3-in-1 Vacuum Handles Pet Hair, Tight Spaces, and Daily Messes—Without Taking Over a Closet
Lauren Bongard · 2026-06-27 · via Latest Content - Popular Mechanics

When I first heard about the SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo, I was skeptical. A robot vacuum, a cordless stick vacuum, and an auto-empty dock all rolled into one system? It sounded too gimmicky. But a year after bringing it home, I'm still using every piece of this tremendous trio.

I use the K10+ Pro Combo exclusively on my home's lower level, which spans just over 1,000 square feet and includes a rec room, home gym, guest suite, storage room, and foster kitten nursery. It's a busy, high-traffic space with a lot of pet hair and obstacles—exercise equipment, furniture, pet toys—and not a lot of room for a bulky cleaning setup. So the compact footprint of this system interested me.

Once I started using it, the rest sold itself. Now, this three-in-one solution has become a staple in my housecleaning routine—and I wouldn't give it up.

K10+ Pro Combo

Pros

  • Robot and stick vacs share one auto-empty dock
  • The small robot vacuum reaches tight spaces
  • Impressive battery life
  • Easy press and go app + connectivity

Cons

  • Fewer features than standalone robots
  • On/off button on the stick vac handle is easy to bump

Key Specs

Robot Diameter9.76 inches
Robot SuctionUp to 4,000 Pa
Stick Vacuum SuctionUp to 20,000 Pa
Dust Bag Capacity3 L (up to 70 days)
NavigationLiDAR (D-ToF Radar)
Weight (robot)5.1 pounds
Weight (stick, with floor head)4 pounds

The setup is simple and space-smart.

Setting up the SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo is easy, though the station is taller than you'd expect—it needs to accommodate both the robot docking at the front and the stick vacuum hanging at the back. Once assembled, it tucks into a corner and barely takes up any space, which was a major selling point. I place the attachment caddy on top of the station, so everything lives together in one tidy spot.

I mapped the space through the SwitchBot app, which took under 10 minutes. Once the rooms were labeled, I set no-go zones for a few trouble spots—the area around the firewood holder by the wood stove and the foot of the ottoman—to help the robot navigate reliably. The app is intuitive, and scheduling or starting cleaning runs takes only a few taps.

The robot is small, and that's the point.

At just under 10 inches in diameter, the K10+ Pro is one of the smallest robot vacuums out there—and in my home’s lower level, that petite size is an asset. It gets around gym equipment, under furniture, and into narrow corners that larger robots simply couldn’t reach. Not to worry, though—this mighty mini also cleans larger spaces fast and efficiently.

That said, this isn't a robot vacuum for heavy lifting. Its obstacle avoidance isn't as sophisticated as that of higher-end standalone units, so I make sure to pick up pet toys, blankets, shoes, and other stray items before each run. But honestly, that habit has been good for keeping tidy in general.

It has gotten stuck, but the no-go zones eliminate most recurring problem spots. It also isn’t nearly as powerful as standalone robots, like the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, but it does a great job on the low-pile carpeting and painted concrete floors in my home’s basement.

I don't use the mop function, since most of my home’s lower level is carpeted. Plus, mopping requires manually attaching and removing a wet pad, so it's more of a bonus feature than a true hands-off solution. If you want a robot vac with mopping capabilities, you may want to consider a model that is better suited to that work, like the Eufy Omni E25.

The cordless vac goes where the robot can't.

The cordless stick vac and hand vac use the same vacuum body with different attachments, and the body lives in the charging station between uses, so it's always ready. I use the hand vac with the rotating upholstery brush for the couch and stairs, the crevice tool for behind furniture and between cushions, and the main floor head for everything else.

The flat floor head glides well and lays completely horizontal, which means I can vacuum under the couch and other low-clearance furniture without moving anything. The smooth swivel movement around corners and furniture legs reminded me of my Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra upright—it's that flexible and easy to maneuver in a space with a lot of objects to navigate.

The stick vac's green headlight—a clear Dyson nod—illuminates dust, pet hair, and debris on the floor. It has two speed settings; I tend to stay on the higher one for maximum suction, though the lower setting does a great job on light dirt and hard floors. Suction is strong enough to pull up cat litter, pet hair, and tracked-around debris without multiple passes.

Lauren Bongard

The floor head has anti-tangle capabilities, and it works. Even after vacuuming up a lot of pet fur and my own hair, the only thing I’ve had to cut off the brush were stray strings from my dogs’ rope toys. That alone makes this set more pleasant to use than a lot of vacuums in this price range.

One downside is that the handle uses an on/off button rather than a trigger, and it's easy to bump accidentally mid-clean. It's a minor annoyance, and I know some people prefer this style—but it's something to be aware of if you're used to a trigger.

The shared dock is the best part.

The unified system has a compact but tall footprint that makes the combo clever and convenient. I don't have to think about separate docks, separate bags, or separate charging schedules.

Everything lives in one spot, each vacuum component empties into one place, and the vacuum body is always charged and ready when I need it. Best of all, you can use and charge both the robot and stick vacuums at the same time.

Both the robot and cordless vacs empty into the same 3-liter antibacterial dust bag inside the base station, which SwitchBot says lasts up to 70 days. In practice, even with the amount of pet hair and stray cat litter dust my household generates, I've only had to swap it out a couple of times in a year.

The process is simple: Pull the bag out, toss it, replace it. No dust clouds, no spilling cat litter bits, no fumbling over a trash can.

The battery and app both deliver.

I've never had the stick vac battery die on me mid-clean. Even when I've used it to do all the stairs, the full floor sweep with the floor head, and some spot-cleaning with the hand vac attachment back-to-back. For a space my size and the kinds of cleaning jobs I do regularly, the runtime is more than adequate.

The SwitchBot app is equally low-maintenance. It handles initial mapping, scheduling, settings, and maintenance. It's one of the simpler and more intuitive robot vacuum apps I've used.

Once you label the rooms and no-go zones, it’s press and go. For more hands-on control, the app lets you adjust suction levels, run room or spot cleans, and check cleaning history. The K10+ Pro also supports Matter and works with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home, though smart home integration requires a SwitchBot Hub 2, which is sold separately. For most people, the app alone is plenty.

The price makes it an even easier sell.

The SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo lists at $799.99, but it regularly sells for around $400 and often drops even lower during sales—which puts it in hard-to-argue territory. Standalone robot vacuums, cordless stick vacuums, and auto-empty docks can run $400 or more on their own. Getting all three in one system for that price is a deal that's tough to find elsewhere.

Final Thoughts

Whether the SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo is your whole-home cleaning solution or just the right tool for one floor depends on your space—and for smaller homes and apartments, it could easily be both. It's not going to out-clean a high-end standalone robot vac or a powerful upright, but for daily maintenance plus a capable on-demand stick vac without surrendering half a closet to separate devices, it covers a lot of ground.

For my home’s lower level, this triple-threat cleaner is the right fit. The robot handles the daily maintenance, the cordless stick vac and hand vac tackle the stairs and the spots the robot misses, and the shared dock keeps everything tidy and charged. If you're considering something like this for a defined space in your home, the SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo is worth a serious look.
