For many of us, Memorial Day marks the start of summer. And while the season doesn’t officially start until late June, the weather certainly would like to say otherwise. Of course, you don’t want to wait until almost July to replace the old window AC unit in your bedroom—price-wise, the earlier the better, and by earlier, we actually mean right now.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, retailers are offering steep discounts on window units, portable ACs, and even miniature cooling systems. Amazon, Lowe’s, and Wayfair have marked down editor-approved units from brands you know and trust, such as LG, GE, Fridgidaire, and Whynter. Looking for a new small room window unit? Check. Maybe something a little more portable for the basement? No problem. ACs of all shapes, sizes, and BTUs are included on this list, and they’re all discounted, of course.

We’re seeing some pretty steep discounts on name brands featured on Amazon. While we didn’t find a ton of window units with crazy discounts, there were a few standout options, including 19 percent off our pick for the best window AC unit overall. The GE Profile ClearView is perfect for bedrooms and small living rooms with its quiet operation and powerful fan. Best of all, the U-shaped design does’t obstruct your view, and you can still open your window to get a nice summer breeze.

The best deal on Amazon, however, comes courtesy of the easy-to-store Whynter 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, which is now 29 percent off. This dual-hose unit doubles as a dehumidifier ands can cool a room up to 500 feet.

Wayfair is featuring a few big-time deals just in time for the unofficial start of summer. This U-shaped AC unit from Eclactic is currently 50 percent off and gives you an almost totally unobstructed window view. Percentage-wise, the Antarctic Star is 69 percent off through Memorial Day and the best deal we’ve found thus far.

Lowe's also has some can’t-miss deals ahead of this Memorial Day. This Arctic Wind 6000 BTU Vented Portable Air Conditioner is now 33 percent off, while the Keystone 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heater, a versatile heating and cooling year-round option, is now 30 percent off. This small room-friendly Mondawe Portable Air Conditioner is 32 percent off, while the Lowe's-branded Vented Portable Air Conditioner, a solid all-around option, is discounted by 21 percent.
