Lego’s foray into Smart technology has quietly been one of the biggest storylines in the toys and collectibles space this year. Smart Bricks debuted back in January, and the brand has been slow-rolling the release of several Star Wars Smart Brick sets to drum up interest. But the brand just unveiled its first Smart Play sets for a different (and arguably bigger) IP: Pokémon.

Pre-orders are now open for 12 new Pokémon sets—all of which feature Smart Play compatibility. The brand dropped its first-ever Pokémon sets during this year’s Pokémon Day, which included the fully evolved Kanto starters, its mascot, Pikachu, and Eevee. It marked the first-ever collaboration between the two brands, and it couldn’t have come at a better time; 2026 celebrates Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. Those sets, though, were of the traditional variety; the second wave of preorders is dialing in Lego’s latest tech.

The affordable sets range from $15 to $120—a far cry from the $650 Kanto Starters set last go-around. But similar to last time, the majority of the new sets all feature ‘Mon from the Kanto region. The crown jewel of this drop is the 751-piece Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle Set, which features a fully interactive battle of the fully evolved Pocket Monsters. You can shake Charizard to wake him up, use in-battle healing sprays, and train each Pokémon with the included training set. It’s also one of the two All-in-one sets with the requisite Smart Bricks (the other being Pikachu’s Training House).

Another highlight of this drop: Mewtwo. The 605-piece Lab Break Set comes with a Master Ball accessory and Mewtwo’s Chamber, where you can simulate his iconic breakout from Team Rocket’s clutches. This, unfortunately, isn’t an all-in-one set, so you’ll have to use the Smart Bricks from one of the sets listed above (or from one of the Star Wars All-in-One sets).

We’re also getting first-time releases of the Kanto starters in their infant forms, as well as the debut of other fan favorites like Mew, Gengar, Jigglypuff, and Lapras. There are also a few newer-gen Pokémon in the Umbreon vs Garchomp Set, as well as the Scarlet & Violet-era starters, and for shameless Bidoof fans… the weird beaver thing in all of its plastic glory.
