Nothing screams “Memorial Day” like a good ‘ol fashioned sale at Lowe’s. It has everything you need to celebrate the long weekend—grills, patio decor, fire pits, you name it. And if you’re hosting a barbecue this year, you'd better make sure your yard is up to snuff. It’s not too late to get started on that spring cleaning checklist, either.
We’re seeing steep savings on some of our favorite grills from Pit Boss and Char-Broil, and up to 50 percent off patio furniture and editor-approved fire pits. We also came across some pretty insane deals on power tools from DeWalt, Craftsman, and Greenworks.
The deals are aplenty, and in all likelihood, the best we’ll see until Black Friday. Memorial Day is Lowe’s bread and butter, though, so these could easily be the best of the year. That said, we’ll be updating throughout the weekend, as we’d expect things to go in and out of stock fairly regularly, especially with these kinds of savings. Our advice? We’d act sooner rather than later. The early bird does, in fact, get the worm; or in this case, the grill.
I vividly remember covering last year’s Memorial Day Sale at Lowe’s, and the grill deals were a bit lacking. Looks like they’ve done a bit of a 180 this year. I love my Pit Boss 3-in-1 grill (which is sadly out of stock at most locations, but no surprise there), but $150 off its 850 DX Series Pellet Grill is a huge highlight of the sale. It’s a state-of-the-art pellet grill with smart tech capabilities, the perfect blend of old-school wood-fired grilling and new-age tech. The requisite wood pellets are on sale, too. As for standard gas grills, Char-Broil grills are on sale, including one of our all-time favorites, the Commercial Series Grill and Griddle Combo. We’ve tested dozens of grills over the years, and we can confidently say this one has the best heat distribution of the many we trialed. If you’re looking for a slightly less expensive option, the Char-Broil Performance Series Propane Gas Grill is a fantastic $200 alternative.
We also test a lot of fire pits around these parts, and while my favorite smokeless models from Solo Stove and Ninja aren’t available at Lowe’s, there are plenty of great alternatives. This is especially true if you’re looking for a fire pit table that pairs well with your existing patio furniture. Luxeyard’s Steel Fire Pit table is the best-looking of the bunch, and it’s now almost 40 percent off. If you don’t have a ton of space, you can always go for a tabletop piece. Perfect timing, as the Allen + Roth Portable Propane Fire Pit is now 50% off and under $100. For a high-output pit that’s strong enough to use in the winter, the R.W. Flame’s 55,000 BTU Gas Fire Pit Table is also now just $200.
Patio furniture can get pricey, but there are a lot of ways to upgrade your patio for under $1,000. One of my favorite deals is 41 percent off this Adirondack Rocking Chair with Ottoman and Cup Holder. I’ve been looking out for an Adirondack rocking chair for years, and haven’t come across one under $300. This one comes with an ottoman and a couple of cup holders for $140. I’m sold. This Wade 4-Piece Patio Conversation Set is another rare find; a full set for under $300 is an absolute steal. If you’ve yet to pull the trigger on a gazebo, now’s as good a time as any; this Black Gazebo with Hardtop Roof is a very much appreciated 50 percent off. You can also get up to 25 percent off assembly for select pieces, effectively adding an extra layer of savings.
Power tools might not necessarily scream Memorial Day, but they always make a good Father’s Day gift. And not to mention, these deals are way too good to pass up. Craftsman tools can get a little pricey, but you can save almost 50 percent off this Craftsman 6-Tool Power Tool Combo Kit and almost 40 percent off the V20 RP 20-Volt Max 2-Tool Brushless Power Tool Combo Kit. You know we’re huge fans of DeWalt here, so we’re similarly stoked about $130 off the 20V MAX XR Brushless 4-Tool Combo Kit and $100 off the 20V Max 3-Tool Combo Kit. If you’re in the market for a bigger set, you can now take 40 percent off Greenworks’ 24-volt 8 -Tool Brushless Power Tool Combo Kit through the weekend.
