Popular Mechanics Reviews Editor Tom Price had a hard time letting go of his trusted college backpack, which he relied on for years, until he tested out Yeti’s Ranchero Daypack. Now he commutes to the office every day with it. But Yeti can be pricey, so when it goes on sale for Amazon Prime Day, it’s worth noting.
Yeti sales can be hard to come by, but we found several good discounts up to 30 percent off during Prime Day. The downside is that the sale doesn’t apply to all colors. For the Ranchero daypack, the lowest price to be found on the 22-liter model that Price reviewed is $168.75 in cherry blossom only. But some other colors in different sizes are available. The 18-liter dropped from $200 to $150 in cherry blossom, and dipped to $160 for navy and dusk. Meanwhile, the smaller 12-liter size dropped from $150 to $120 in all three colors. If you don’t mind a limited color selection, this is a good time to grab a deal on Yeti.
Durability and design are what make this daypack so worthwhile. The three-zipper configuration enables you to pack it fully without having to unpack the whole thing to reach something at the bottom, because the center zipper opens the entire length of the backpack. Meanwhile, the loop on the back is compatible with the handles of most rolling luggage, making it easy to stack as you travel with both.
