Choosing what size power station is right for you can be a difficult decision. Sometimes, you want portable power to take with you on trips; sometimes, you want a station that can deliver power to the home when the lights go out. But with a highly customizable power station like the Bluetti Apex 300, you don’t have to choose—it can be both. And right now it’s at its lowest price ever for Amazon Prime Day.
When I reviewed this newer station from Bluetti a few months ago, I was impressed with how much power and capacity it can deliver in a somewhat small size (3,840 watts with nearly 2,765 watt-hours). At 84 pounds, it’s not what I would call compact, but you could easily bring it with you on an off-road trip. But what really stood out to me was the fact that you could expand this station—with the help of extra batteries and other equipment—to be the basis of a whole-home backup system.
| Power | 3,840 W (7,680 W surge) |
| Capacity | 2,764.8 Wh |
| Voltage | 120V and 240V |
| Outputs | 4 x 120V; 1 x 120V 30A; 1 x 120/240V 50A |
| Weight | 84 lb |
The Apex 300 is built with ports you won’t always find in power stations of this size, such as a 240-volt 50-amp connection, which could connect to a manual transfer switch to power your home electrical system during an emergency. There are also two inputs for connecting portable solar panels (there’s a good Prime Day deal on a panel bundle, too) that allow up to a whopping 2,400 watts of input, which is very high for a portable station. Plus, you can reach even higher input by pairing with a Bluetti SolarX 4K voltage regulator, which is designed for connection to larger solar arrays.
Also built in are expansion ports for connecting up to six additional batteries for a very high capacity of 19,353.6 watt-hours. Or, you can scale that up even higher, connecting up to two other Apex 300 units and running them in parallel. That would give you up to 58,060.8 watt-hours of capacity if you added batteries to those, as well. That’s enough to run your entire home for more than a week or more, potentially.
Or, you can just use it as a normal power station—the choice is yours. It’s nice to have options.
