In a market brimming with flashy ultrabooks and spec-heavy machines, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition carves its own niche, with quiet confidence. It doesn’t scream for attention with its design, but under the hood, there’s enough to keep professionals, creators, and casual users equally happy. From a crisp 15.3-inch IPS display and dependable battery life to Intel’s latest Core Ultra processor and a solid keyboard setup, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is built for everyday versatility. Does it have any drawbacks? Let’s find out!
Design
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition sticks to Lenovo’s tried-and-tested design philosophy— a slim form factor and no flashy design accents. There’s almost no standout feature on the cover, except the Lenovo logo front and centre in bold. The Luna Grey colour lends it some elegance, however, the aesthetic is fairly ordinary.

With an ultra-slim profile measuring just 0.55 inches, this laptop is built for portability. At just around 1.53 kgs, despite the massive display, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition makes it to the lightweight category and is fairly easy to commute with.
The Power button is on the right-hand side bezel as usual, this time flush with the body. There’s still surprisingly no fingerprint reader - a staple in premium laptops these days. Although there’s facial recognition for sign-ins, which works well.
Multimedia
While many of Lenovo’s recent laptops have embraced OLED touchscreens for their vibrant colors and deep contrast levels, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition takes a different route. It features a 15.3-inch IPS panel—crisp and punchy, yes, but not quite in OLED territory when it comes to deep blacks, and deeply vivid colours.

That said, there’s still plenty to appreciate. The display packs in a sharp 2880 x 1800 resolution, more than enough for detailed visuals and razor-sharp text.
The flexible display, which can be pushed back to a full 180 degrees, marries well with the touchscreen functionality for sharing information around a table, so quick note-taking or brainstorming with the team.

By default, the system is set to a 60 Hz refresh rate. The overall browsing and multimedia consumption experience is amped up the moment I jack it up to 120 Hz, with text no longer leaving a shadow trail as I get my reading done for the day. I hit play on Superstars of Malegaon, a heartfelt drama inspired by the true story of a bunch of friends in the eponymous little town, who come together to shoot their own movies. The movie, set in the late 1990s, pops on screen in all its sepia-tinted glory. The laptop offers decent viewing angles, with neither my partner nor I having to adjust to watch better.
The laptop has four stereo speakers built-in, and is optimised with Dolby Atmos, and the sound quality is loud and resonant in general.
Productivity
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition features a full-sized keyboard and buttonless glass surface touchpad. The touchpad is spacious, smooth, and responsive but could definitely be quieter with the clicks.
The chiclet-type keys are typical of the Yoga lineup with a slightly rounded base on each key. The typing is accurate, and the travel on the keys is satisfactory. The keyboard is backlit and can be toggled through four modes - auto, low brightness, high brightness, and off. Apart from the usual suspects on the function keys, there’s a dedicated ‘Mode’ key. It lets me toggle through Smart modes and Scenario modes. These modes are tailored to
There’s also a dedicated CoPilot button now, as is the case with most Windows laptops these days.
For online meetings, there’s a 1080p webcam that delivers decent-looking footage in well-lit rooms. However, the quality gets grainy in less than ideal lighting. The webcam comes with an electronic shutter, which rests next to the power button, on the side of the laptop.
Tech Specs
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition runs on the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with Integrated Intel AI Boost and Integrated Intel Arc Graphics 140V. The model packs in 32 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage, making it a super competent workhorse. Most of my usage revolved around watching multimedia, catching up on reading, writing, and editing articles. Despite it not being an OLED display, I still enjoyed watching media on this laptop. At no time during my usage did it stutter or lag, even during casual gaming.
Connectivity options include a 3.5 mm jack, a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, and an HDMI port on the left. On the right, there’s one more Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, a USB-A port, the power button, and a small toggle switch for the webcam.
Battery life
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition packs in a 70 Wh Li-ion battery, which has a decent runtime. When I was rewatching a few episodes of Squid Game (Season 3), with the brightness set to 100 per cent, the battery levels dropped by about 15 per cent each hour. If most of your work involves non-visual media processing, you’ll easily be able to get a full working day out of juice out of the device. The laptop supports Rapid Charge Express and is able to deliver three hours of runtime with a quick 15-minute charge. To get to 100 percent charge, the laptop took about 1.5 hours at a stretch with the 65 W USB-C charger.
Verdict
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is pitched as a premium, portable ultrabook—and for the most part, it delivers. It’s slim, lightweight, and powerful enough for a typical workday, with enough RAM and storage to breeze through multitasking. The IPS display, while not OLED, is sharp and fluid, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes everyday interactions feel snappy. The keyboard is excellent, the battery life is reliable, and the multimedia experience is immersive. That said, it’s not without its quirks. The lack of a fingerprint sensor feels like a miss at this price point, and the webcam could have been sharper, too. But if you can look past these minor shortcomings, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition stands out as a smart, elegant pick for professionals who want performance wrapped in a minimalist design.
