Dr Dharmesh Awasthi, President, Builders’ Association of India
The Builders’ Association of India has appointed Dr Dharmesh Awasthi as the President for the term 2026–27. He took charge in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Awasthi said the recent directive by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways on the cost escalation compensation mechanism was a significant milestone for the construction industry, reflecting the Government’s responsiveness to long-standing concerns and its commitment towards improving the ease of doing business in the infrastructure sector.
Timely and structured compensation for cost escalation is crucial to ensuring the smooth execution of infrastructure projects, protecting contractors from unforeseen price fluctuations, and strengthening the sector’s financial stability, he said.
