The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on skilling and infrastructure development for quantum computing at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi on Friday.

“The seven agreements are expected to help Andhra Pradesh become a major Quantum-AI centre, developing the Quantum Valley in Amaravati,” a State government official said.

The State government also signed an agreement with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to set up a Quantum AI University in the State. It will be the first AI and Quantum deemed university campus in the South.

The Central Government will provide funds for infrastructure, while the State Government will provide land and quantum hardware. NIELIT Director General Madan Mohan Tripathi and the Controller General Alok Tripathi were present at the MoU signing event.

AI Tutor

IIT Madras will introduce an AI Tutor in Andhra Pradesh, which will be made available to students in both government and private schools across the state.

“The government is also going to train students and young people in AI and Quantum technologies, preparing them for future job market demands. The state will focus on using AI and Quantum technologies in government departments to simplify how public services are delivered,” he said.

The United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) will establish a Centre of Excellence in Quantum and AI by the end of the year. UNICC Director Sameer Chauhan and representatives of the organisation attended the MoU signing ceremony.

Technology major IBM will train one lakh youth in the State in Quantum technologies, AI, and cybersecurity through its global digital learning platform.

IBM India Managing Director Sandeep Patel, its South Asia Executive Director Kishore Balaji, and IBM Research Labs Director Amit Singhee discussed the programme’s details with Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu at the event.

In another agreement, Calibo AI agreed to set up AI Academies and AI Sandboxes in 50 higher educational institutions in the State.
