The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has inducted 160 professionals into its MBA-PGPX 2026–27 batch, with an average work experience of over 7 years.
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has inducted 160 professionals into the 21st batch of its one-year MBA-PGPX programme for 2026–27, with the cohort reflecting a diverse mix of industries and an average work experience of 7 years and 6 months.
The batch comprises 114 male students (72%) and 46 female students (28%), with over 36% of participants bringing international exposure through work or academic experience. The institute said the programme continues to attract mid-career professionals seeking accelerated leadership roles amid evolving global business dynamics. Participants in the latest MBA-PGPX batch come from a wide spectrum of sectors, including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), consulting, energy and utilities, IT, manufacturing, defence and security, e-commerce, FMCG, media and advertising, aerospace and aviation, healthcare, and logistics.
Among these, BFSI, consulting, and energy and utilities account for the highest representation, with 22 students each. These are followed by IT & ITeS (15), manufacturing/engineering (14), defence and security (10), IT products (9), and retail/e-commerce (7). Positioned as a programme for experienced professionals, IIMA’s MBA-PGPX emphasises the application of classroom learning to real-world business challenges through its case-based pedagogy and global management perspective. The institute has rolled out a three-day orientation programme to familiarise students with its academic framework, culture, and values.
