



















A man was allegedly robbed of Rs 1.45 lakh by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Jogighopa area of Assam’s Bongaigaon district, police said on May 1.
The incident took place at Chaltapara when the victim, identified as Paritosh Malo, was returning home on a bicycle after withdrawing cash from the Jogighopa branch of State Bank of India.
According to police, Malo had withdrawn Rs 1.45 lakh from the bank and was carrying the cash in a bag. As he was passing through Chaltapara, two unidentified men on a motorcycle allegedly approached from the opposite direction, snatched the bag, and fled the spot.
The bag reportedly also contained his mobile phone, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and other personal documents.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint at Jogighopa Police Station.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Efforts are on to identify and trace the accused, officials said.
