Nine Bangladeshi nationals pushed back at Indo–Bangladesh border in Assam’s Mankachar, left stranded in ‘No Man’s Land’

A total of nine illegal Bangladeshi nationals were pushed back through the India–Bangladesh border at Mankachar in Assam’s South Salmara-Mankachar district in an operation carried out by personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday, June 14 morning.

According to sources, six of the individuals were pushed back through the Jhalarchar border point in Mankachar, while the remaining three were moved through the Shahapara border point.

Officials said the group includes women and children.

Following the operation, a flag meeting was held between India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh’s Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to discuss the matter. However, Bangladesh has not yet accepted the individuals.

As of the latest information available, all nine individuals continue to remain stranded at 'No Man's Land' area along the India–Bangladesh border.

Security arrangements have been intensified in the area, with personnel from both the BSF and BGB maintaining heightened vigilance and conducting patrols on their respective sides of the border to prevent any escalation of the situation.

Authorities are continuing coordination efforts as developments unfold along the international border.
