Two women from the northeast were allegedly subjected to derogatory remarks and physical assault near Nehru Place in South Delhi on May 10 morning, prompting a police investigation and multiple raids to trace the accused.

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call regarding two women in distress was received at Kalkaji Police Station at around 7 am on May 10. Acting on the information, police personnel reached a tea stall near Eros Hotel in Nehru Place where the incident had reportedly taken place.

During the preliminary enquiry, police found that the victims were allegedly abused and targeted with derogatory remarks, which subsequently led to a physical altercation between the victims and the accused persons.

Both women were escorted to AIIMS Hospital where their medical examinations were conducted. Police said an FIR has been registered in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.

As part of the probe, CCTV footage from nearby areas was extensively examined and several witnesses and passersby present at the scene during the incident were identified.

Delhi Police stated that multiple raids were conducted and eight persons, including witnesses and passersby, were rounded up and questioned. Investigators have identified four main accused in the case.

Police teams are currently conducting raids at various locations linked to the accused persons in an effort to apprehend them.
