Assam Jatiya Parishad president Lurinjyoti Gogoi dismissed the credibility of recent exit poll projections and asserted that his party is confident of victory.

Reacting to the exit poll forecasts ahead of the declaration of Assembly election results, Gogoi claimed that the predictions were “totally bogus” and alleged that they were aimed at creating psychological pressure on party workers as well as administrative officials.

“We are going to form the government. It’s clear and confirmed,” Gogoi said while speaking to reporters in Guwahati.

He further alleged that the exit polls were driven by a “clear agenda” and described the projections as “foolish predictions” intended to influence the political atmosphere in the state.

Commenting on the recent hike in commercial LPG cylinder prices, the AJP leader criticised the policies of the NDA government, stating that rising fuel prices had become a recurring concern during its tenure.

“We have seen this through the years since this NDA government has come. The price hike is a big issue,” Gogoi said.

He also accused the ruling dispensation of failing to fulfil earlier assurances made to the public regarding reduction in fuel prices after assuming power.

“Previously, they committed to the common people that after the government is formed, they will decrease the price. But the policy was totally opposite,” he added.
