"No fuel shortage in Assam", says IOCL; supply chain operating normally

Indian Oil Corporation Limited confirmed that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available across Assam, assuring that there is no shortage at any level of the fuel distribution network. The company stated that Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are working in close coordination to streamline logistics, manage stock movement, and ensure uninterrupted retail operations throughout the state.
According to officials, the coordinated functioning of supply depots, transport networks, and retail fuel outlets has ensured seamless availability of petroleum products in both urban and rural areas. Authorities said the overall supply situation remains stable due to continuous monitoring, real-time stock assessment, and efficient distribution management mechanisms.
Officials further stated that no disruption has been reported either at fuel depots or at petrol pumps across Assam. Oversight systems have been put in place to respond promptly to any fluctuations in demand and to maintain supply stability across all districts, including major consumption centres such as Guwahati and other towns.
Amid recent public concerns reported from certain areas, the oil industry appealed to citizens to remain calm and avoid panic-driven purchasing of fuel. Authorities specifically urged consumers not to engage in unnecessary stockpiling, reiterating that sufficient reserves are available to meet normal demand across the state.
Officials also advised the public to rely only on official communications issued by Oil Marketing Companies for accurate and verified information regarding fuel availability and supply conditions in the region.
