Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Kaling Moyong dismissed reports suggesting an imminent leadership change in the state, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.

Addressing speculation circulating on certain digital and social media platforms, Moyong clarified that there is no proposal or discussion within the Bharatiya Janata Party regarding the replacement of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He reaffirmed the party's full support for the Chief Minister and stated that the reports being circulated have no factual basis.

The state BJP chief said the rumours appeared to be part of an attempt by vested interests to undermine the credibility and public standing of leaders who have been overseeing the state's development initiatives. He maintained that the BJP leadership remains united and committed to ensuring political stability and continued governance in Arunachal Pradesh.

Moyong also noted that much of the speculation was being amplified by certain digital media platforms operating from neighbouring Assam, while no credible media organisation within Arunachal Pradesh had reported any such development.

Seeking to dispel uncertainty, the BJP leader said he had held detailed discussions with senior BJP functionary Nitin Nabin regarding the matter. According to Moyong, both leaders unequivocally rejected reports of any leadership transition and reiterated that there is complete alignment within the party on the issue.

The clarification comes amid growing speculation on social media regarding the future of the state government. A day earlier, Tezu-Sunpura MLA and former minister Dr Mohesh Chai had also publicly dismissed rumours concerning the stability of the Arunachal Pradesh government, describing them as unfounded.

With senior party leaders issuing back-to-back statements, the BJP has sought to put an end to speculation and reaffirm its support for the current leadership under Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
