Dead fly found inside sealed liquor bottle at Assam's Dibrugarh store, raises quality concerns

A sealed bottle of a popular foreign liquor brand allegedly containing a dead fly has sparked concern among consumers in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
 

The incident came to light at Fancy Stores, a licensed liquor outlet located on RKB Road in Dibrugarh, after a customer reportedly noticed the insect inside the unopened bottle before consuming the product.
 

According to local sources, the bottle belonged to one of the country's leading liquor brands and had been purchased from the store in a sealed condition. The customer allegedly spotted what appeared to be a dead fly floating inside the bottle and brought the matter to the attention of the retailer.
 

The discovery has raised questions about quality control measures in the manufacturing and packaging process of alcoholic beverages. Consumers expressed concern over how a foreign object could enter a sealed bottle of a reputed brand and reach the market without being detected.
 

The incident has also triggered calls for an inquiry by the excise authorities and other concerned agencies to ascertain whether the contamination occurred during production, packaging, transportation, or storage.
