Senior Server Developer, Cambridge, UK

Frontier are the studio behind Jurassic World Evolution, Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster. We are Britain’s biggest independent publisher and developer of videogames, based among the world-leading technology cluster in the historic city of Cambridge, England.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Server Developer to join our online services team and help develop our growing portfolio of online game services, web sites, and corporate information applications, hosted on public cloud services and the office intranet.

The successful applicant would work in an enthusiastic, agile environment across a range of new and existing game and corporate projects, and will be able to expand their skills and experience by working with a variety of applications, servers and databases.

Prior experience in the games industry is not necessary, but experience of playing games with online components will help a lot.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop high performance, high availability websites and applications to support our growing catalogue of online games
  • Efficiently develop easy to use intranet applications to help organise the studio's information and make it available to our colleagues and partners
  • Build software systems and database structures using public cloud services
  • Help debug and maintain existing distributed server systems

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Junior Application Support Engineers who will be comfortable working on a range of services at DVLA Swansea, across multiple products and technologies, covering both legacy and brand new cloud-based applications.

Business Intelligence Data Engineer, Swansea, Wales

The Business Intelligence Engineer role is a demanding role in a fast-paced environment. It involves managing and monitoring data across multiple data-warehouses and responding to a vast range of requests for reporting purposes and ensuring data accuracy. You will work as part of a flexible software delivery team working in a variety of styles, including Agile.

Telecoms Engineer, Swansea, Wales

DVLA IT Services (ITS) have undertaken a major transformation of our IT estate and organisation in recent years. We have a challenging time ahead, as we continue the transformation of our IT estate and the delivery of more digital services and technologies, utilising an in-house developed and supported set of services.

We work with groups within ITS to ensure that services are delivered effectively, efficiently and according to agreed service levels, measures and processes.

The role holder will work in a multi skilled team based environment and must be able to work well as part of a team. The engineer has responsibility for providing IT Telephony support to customers/contractors, must be adaptable, work using their own initiative and possess good problem solving skills.

Aspects of the role include, but are not limited to, soft and hard phone support/installations, moves and changes, Telephony Routing, stores/stock management, incident/change/problem management and working out of hours when required.

This is a physical, hands-on role. It also requires a moderate level of technical knowledge and an understanding of Phone technology and testing. Building and maintaining good customer relationships is an integral part of this role.
