Discount Bank reduced the tariffs for some of its fees by tens of percent the day before yesterday, such as handling credit requests and checks. Maariv has learned that these are more than ten fees used by customers with relatively low frequency. The decision was not made in a vacuum.

Inquiries at the bank revealed that these fees were expensive compared to other banks, and Discount customers commented on this. When customers bargained and demanded to reduce the fee, it was indeed reduced. Against this backdrop, it was decided to update the price list downward for the benefit of all customers.

The fee for issuing and sending an account statement at a special frequency will be reduced by more than half and will cost NIS 4.5 instead of NIS 9.8 until now. The fee for issuing a bank check will cost 0.25% of the transaction price and not 0.5% as it has been until today. The maximum amount per transaction will be reduced from $125 to $85, and the minimum amount will be reduced from $25 to $10 per transaction.

The credit and collateral handling fee for an amount exceeding NIS 100 thousand (excluding a housing loan) will be reduced from 2.5% of the transaction amount to 1.5% of the amount (minimum NIS 1,000 per transaction instead of NIS 1,250 per transaction). Additional fees that will be reduced relate to handling foreign currency checks, foreign currency transfers between Israel and abroad, and more.

Discount Bank is managed by Avi Levi, who works to improve the level of service and fairness to customers, so that Discount will not be perceived as the most expensive bank in the banking system.

Discount stated in response: "The bank examines and updates its fee tariffs from time to time with the aim of maintaining a competitive and fair pricing level. The current update benefits customers and reduces a variety of fees."
