Shlomo Group has entered Israel’s garage and vehicle service center market with a planned nationwide network, investing about NIS 50 million to expand independent service infrastructure, the company said in a press release. The company intends to support private customers from the point of vehicle purchase or leasing through ongoing maintenance.
The first center, opened in Holon’s industrial zone, covers about 4,000 square meters and was established at a cost of around NIS 5 million, according to the company. It is already operating and is equipped to service gasoline, diesel, and electric vehicles.
Indian technicians join local teams
As part of the Holon launch, Shlomo Group said it integrated dozens of professional workers from India who underwent dedicated training. The Indian technicians are working alongside Israeli mechanics specializing in engines, transmissions, and advanced vehicle systems, the company said.
The Indian workforce element comes as Israel has increasingly turned to Indian labor to address shortages in several sectors. The Jerusalem Post reported in February 2026 that Israel and India agreed to allow an additional 50,000 Indian citizens to work in Israel over five years.
The center includes 19 lifts, advanced diagnostic systems, and dedicated equipment for servicing electric vehicles and high-voltage batteries, Shlomo Group said. It also has about 100 parking spaces and can handle roughly 70 vehicles a day.
Shlomo seeks control over the full customer chain
Asi Shmeltzer, chairman of Shlomo Group, said the network was a strategic step meant to reduce dependence on third-party providers and strengthen the company’s control over the customer experience. JPost has previously used the spelling Asi Shmeltzer in coverage of Shlomo Group.
The company said the new network would serve more than 40,000 private customers and support growth in private leasing and first-hand vehicle sales. Additional service centers are expected to open in Beersheba and Netanya, according to the press release.
EV demand adds pressure to service infrastructure
The launch also comes as Israel’s vehicle market continues to adjust to electric and plug-in vehicles. JPost has reported on renewed Israeli interest in electric vehicles and on the growing availability of long-range EV models in the local market.
Ayalon Harush, CEO of Shlomo Group’s service division, stated that the independent network was designed to offer a comprehensive solution and enhance control over quality, availability, and reliability. The Holon center can service about 70 vehicles per day, according to Shlomo Group.
