I haven’t done any online searching or order for this item yet. So today Im on my work laptop and ALL the ads I’m seeing online are for this very item. It freaked me out. BTW we are both men and I’ve never purchased such products before.
i have a midea dehumidifier and midea a.c. unit that connect to the internet and i can check the house temp etc when i'm away and control the appliances from my phone. i think it's useful tech, but they do gather your usage data.
The… ah…ummm… private space in which we do things in private early in the morning or late late at night and sometimes more than once a day. But on average once a day. quickly in and out. Easy

Yep, insurance companies could decide you’re too high a risk for cancer (or whatever) and deny coverage. Or crazy extremist governments could buy your data and use bizarre pseudoscience to decide you’re a probable future terrorist.
And yes, sell it to law enforcement agencies so they can continue to build a database with as many people's genetic IDs as possible. Which should NOT sound harmless given that the window of "legal" and "illegal" will shift with political whim.
