Hey Mark! I noticed they put up a Link NYC surveillance screen right by WFMU next to the post office!! What gives? Yes, a giant flickering ad screen is exactly what that block needed. What can be done? I’m thinking of writing to mayor Fulop to express my outrage.

I hope they make them split mail, drive, etc. from the ad business so they're not allowed to crawl all the user-generated content. I wonder if there's any chance.

Thanks for this show, Mark. Your show is great but an occasional bigger break from its normal tone is welcome. Thanxz, again.
Hi joe mulligan! I think Douglas Rushkoff has written about this, but I might be getting my wires crossed. There have been some books and articles that deal with this subject.

Wendy! I said from day one that Elon bought twitter so he could endorse/appeal to right wing conservatives with free speech and they would let him do all the lithium mining he wants by pushing loose enviro policy/laws.
It's been a kind of back burner idea of mine that the US government should get into the email biz via the USPS - not that the USPS is actually a government org. But has special status. I'd love web crawling/search to be roughly in the same state. and the "social network".
6:16pm
MarciB:
But what does this mean, exactly? What will be done? I skimmed Paul Bradley Carr's piece in the SF Examiner and he seemed to think nothing much will change - but I read it quickly and may have missed some important points.
