To paraphrase Roy Walker, Veo3 is good but it's not right. However, it's better than Tom Hanks' eyes in The Polar Express. Worst Zombie film ever

I think they will change into something else. COVID saw a big push towards more viewing at home.
And what is the line between great VFX and okay AI? Why is the T Rex in the 90's Jurassic Park better than what we see, and definitely don't feel now?
Or we merely remake Tron again!

A very few 3D movies actually work really nicely in 3d: Coraline, where the fantasy world is more 3D-ish than the real world, and Hugo.
A bit related to tonight's show:
When Fran Drescher was appointed the president of SAG-AFTRA as the union was still on strike (this week marks two years since she took over the position), she gave an empassioned speech about how the Hollywood heirarchy was threatening to sacrifice vital manpower in favor of AI technology to produce theatrical and TV features. Here's that remarkable speech she gave at a press conference:
And you! The Nanny is an interesting one because the technology is improving than any new motions can be put to its Union members. The fine lines keep getting redrawn.
John Waters and AI would be a wonderful mix. Let's drive to Baltimore!
Unfortunately, no one wants to finance his movies.

Having seen IMAX at Cinesphere in Toronto, world's first IMAX theater, what's passed off as IMAX at multiplexes isn't even from the same planet. And agree true IMAX doesn't work for traditional narrative films.

Dan Morfitt, the McGiver of Radio Hosts. Always impresses.
Sinners has a go, but the vastness of true IMAX isn't conducive to best framing of a scene. It is good at showing absolutely EVERYTHING a director wants to show off with.
Same with Nolan's mucking about with the plane in The Dark Night Rises. Huge, but not truly cinematic IMO.
Happy with being MacGruber if that's also available.

In an IMAX I can remember watching a movie about a baby cradle that rolls away…oh also I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey in IMAX many years later
Took seeing a few wide releases in IMAX and an article pointing out it's a round peg on a square screen to realize it's another unworthy studio cash grab.

Podcasts are completely different from commercial radio. Recently ended 9 years as a traffic producer, on air traffic reporters used my info. With younger generations not listening, there's been a massive removal of such immediate information, replaced by apps as well. Further, I got my favorite songs from the radio, along with friends. Podcasts don't have that reach.

And the answer is... Why save the movies? Movies have rather gone down hill. This is the natural continuation of the ongoing degradation.
However, AI will produce much profit by its participation in making movies. l'm excited about this, as profit motivates progress!
