Issue #50 of Typographic & Sporadic is a special one not so much because of the number, but because I’m here to tell you about three very specific things:
Book! The most important thing is to let you know that Fine Specimens is out today. Well, technically today’s the US release date, and UK (and elsewhere) bookstores won’t officially get the book until Thursday, but pre-orders seem to have been landing all over the world way ahead of the actual pub date(s), so let’s just go with it. In theory, if you walk into a bookstore today, you should be able to buy or a least order Fine Specimens.
Book tour! The second is to remind you that today is also the first stop on the book tour. I’ll be celebrating Fine Specimens’ release at Bookhaus in Bristol tonight, and if you’re around, you should absolutely come by. Details and tickets are on the bookshop’s website.
Book tour newsletter! The third and final thing is to let you know that the start of the tour also means the start of the pop-up newsletter. I’ll be covering my travels across the UK and Europe via Notes from a different (type)setting and the first issue (covering tonight’s event) will go out in a couple of days. As a subscriber of Typographic & Sporadic, you will not automatically receive the tour emails. I repeat: you will not automatically receive the tour emails unless you explicitly sign up to the pop-up! The list for that newsletter is entirely separate to this one.
Okay, that’s it for now. Normal service will resume next issue. Thanks for letting me indulge in such shameless self-promotion for this one. [cough] Buy buy buy! Subscribe subscribe subscribe!
Thanks for reading! As a reminder, this newsletter is made by me with zero AI, zero ads, and zero consideration for any sort of algorithm. To help me keep writing it, please consider buying my books or hiring me to speak at your event. And please do email me if you’d like to chat out about any of the above — I always respond.
You’ve just read the online version of my newsletter. Want to subscribe for free and get the next one straight into your inbox?
