Rapid7 Gives Back Roundup: How Our Core Values Drive Glob...
Jun 3 2026 · 2026-06-04 · via Rapid7 Careers Blog

At Rapid7, our culture drives how we innovate, collaborate, and make an impact globally. We believe that being a "Global Cybersecurity Citizen" means embracing the responsibility to create a secure, prosperous future for everyone.

Through our annual Rapid7 Gives Back initiative, we put this vision into action.

Bringing our core values to life, our employees proved that when we step away from our desks and unite around shared causes, the ripple effects are profound.

Here is a look at what drives our people to serve, how we work together, and the lasting impact of giving back:

Finding Purpose: Why We Choose to Serve

Our "Bring You" value is an invitation for employees to bring their authentic selves and passions to work. For many team members, this meant championing organizations that hold deep personal significance.

In Boston, project leader Michael chose to host students from UP Academy to inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. "As a Black individual who grew up in New England, I know firsthand how a single meaningful connection with a mentor or community member can ignite a child’s confidence and expand their horizons," he shared. "I wanted to bring that immense talent into our space and show them that a future in technology and cybersecurity is entirely within their reach".

With Indian schools reopening in June, the Rapid7 Gives Back program created an opportunity for employees in Pune to ensure students start the year in a meaningful way.  "We curated Eco Lab books and Back to School kits for children and what made it even more special was the timing. This felt like the perfect moment to do something meaningful for these kids right before they stepped back into classrooms.” Shared Yadi Baber. For members of our Pune team, these activities are just one example of how they are looking forward to creating local impact all year long.

For others, giving back was about ensuring human dignity or supporting the broader Rapid7 ecosystem. Ellen Brennan, who led efforts for FeedOurHomeless in Dublin, explained, "I feel it is incredibly important to support the most vulnerable members of our local community who are often not treated with the dignity and compassion everyone should be entitled to".

In Australia, Carmel’s team took part in the Walk for Autism, an annual fundraising event organized by Rapid7 customer Aspect. "It’s about more than just business; it’s about showing up for our partners and the families they serve," she noted.

Impacting Together: The Power of Collaboration

When we lean into our value of "Impact Together," we recognize that we are stronger and more capable when we collaborate. Across the globe, our teams found that they could achieve incredible local impact by uniting their efforts.

"One of the biggest takeaways from the experience was seeing how much can be achieved when people come together," shared Catherine O'Neill, whose Belfast team raised £1,000 and deep-cleaned kitchens for Belfast Homeless Services.

In Tampa Bay, Lakesha Goodwin noted that working to sort over 6,000 pounds of food for a local pantry "shows how we create impact beyond our day-to-day work by partnering together".

This collaboration wasn't just about heavy lifting; it was about the culture we create when we show up for one another. As Michael observed in Boston, "Watching our Rapid7 team come together, from welcoming the students in the lobby to providing encouraging feedback on their presentations, showed our culture in action".

Even small teams felt the magnitude of their collective effort. As Carmel in Australia pointed out, "It reminded us that you don't need a cast of thousands to make a significant difference; you just need a dedicated few who are willing to keep moving". Thier team of three managed to log a staggering 728,271 steps over the month of May. Beyond the physical feat, they exceeded fundraising expectations which contribute directly to providing essential services and programs for the autism community.

The Long Lasting Impact of the Experience

Ultimately, Rapid7 Gives Back doesn't just transform our communities, it deeply impacts our people. Volunteering offered our teams a renewed sense of connection and well-being.

For Hannah Anderson in Northern Ireland, participating a pitch-black, 4:15 AM "Darkness Into Light" walk for suicide prevention was profoundly moving. "It was a really lovely opportunity to see your co-workers in a new light, and bonding over something so meaningful," she reflected.

Zuzana Arnoldova, who led a team to volunteer at a dog shelter in Prague, echoed this sentiment. She noted that "spending time doing something meaningful... is bringing me a long lasting feeling of belonging, usefulness, balance and happiness". She added, "Sometimes a long walk with a dog outside can provide a much needed environment for new and creative thoughts."
