Yutori launches Delegate to turn AI agents into proactive...

Yutori launches Delegate to turn AI agents into proactive web workers

Yutori Inc., a startup that develops autonomous artificial intelligence agents for everyday knowledge-work tasks on the web, today announced the launch of Delegate, which allows users to offload and “delegate” tasks.

Delegate is an eager AI agent that the company says never sleeps and is always prepared, at the user’s beck and call, to take whatever the user needs off their plate. Readers are already being inundated with explanations of agentic AI, the next stage after chatbots: systems that sit and wait for commands, while agents can wake up and run on schedule, coordinate, organize and think ahead.

The founders, co-Chief Executives Devi Parikh and Abhishek Das, alongside Chief Scientist Dhruv Batra, are all AI researchers who came out of Meta Platforms Inc., with deep expertise in computer vision and embodied AI. The company launched publicly from stealth in March 2025 and aims to bring agentic AI into the hands of prosumers and nontechnical users.

In an exclusive interview with SiliconANGLE, Parikh and Das said the company name comes from the Japanese word yutori (or ゆとり), which is commonly used to mean “elbow room” or space to move. Das structured it as mental spaciousness, breathing room to take into account.

“The user shouldn’t have to prompt; the user should just delegate tasks,” said Das.

Delegate is not a chat interface like ChatGPT; it is an active participant that goes out and takes actions on a user’s behalf. Parikh explicitly noted that chat tends to be “a much more reactive way of engaging with AI,” while Das said the product is optimized for “firing tasks at it” so it can make progress in the background.

This will let people fire and forget. In fact, during a demo, Parikh showed that she sometimes sits down and completely “brain dumps” her entire daily routine into Delegate, including personal thoughts and needs in a stream of thought.

Although Delegate could not complete all of her tasks from the interface, it still organized them into a structured task list, triaged them and came back with bullet points of what it could tackle. It noted which ones it could handle immediately by putting them on her calendar, which ones it needed additional access for, which ones it would begin researching and which ones it would put additional agents to work on.

“We should just have agents that can do these things in parallel, in the background, and draw our attention only when they need something from us,” Parikh said. “They should otherwise just kind of take care of all our digital chores so that we can focus on the things that we actually care about.”

To achieve this, Yutori built a complex product in layers. Launching Scouts in June 2025, powerful web-crawling sub agents capable of always-on web monitoring and research for product changes, news, price drops and more. Then, the company built Navigator, a computer vision-based cloud web agent capable of filling in forms and clicking buttons to browse through pages.

Turning Delegate into a personal secretary

When additional access is needed, Delegate has a superpower: an app called Yutori Local.

Local is an app that currently runs on MacOS and acts similarly to computer-using agentic AI apps such as Claude Cowork or OpenAI Atlas. A Windows version is coming soon. It can reach out onto the web, shop for you, navigate web pages, log into them and then take actions on the user’s behalf – including buying tickets to a matinée.

Of course, all of these behaviors are set by the user. A user can choose to delegate certain trust levels to the AI agent. Including telling it to only plan first and not do anything without permission, permitting it to take certain limited actions or allowing it to take a wider variety of roles depending on user controls.

“The reason why it’s a desktop app is that credentials never leave someone’s device,” Das explained.

For people curious about what the agent is up to, they can even peer into its inner workings. While it’s active (and even afterwards) there is a window that displays its activity as it navigates through web pages, mouses around, fills in forms and clicks on buttons.
