The complimentary MLB.TV subscription, valued at $150, applies only to out-of-market regular-season games. Meaning, if you want to catch your favorite local team play, you'll need to watch those games elsewhere. However, it's worth noting that you can listen to live audio of all MLB games with this deal.
In related news, MLB is offering in-market streaming for over 20 teams this year. However, that feature is not included with T-Mobile MLB.TV freebie.
This baseball season will also introduce the automated ball strike system, powered by T-Mobile's 5G network. The ABS system will debut on Opening Night, when the Giants play the Yankees in Netflix's first-ever live MLB game. The new system, which has been used in the minor leagues since 2022, allows players to challenge umpire home-plate calls. The goal is to ensure the right calls are made.
