Traveling as a gamer is great because you can be prepared to jump into the game under any circumstance. Whether it's on a flight, traveling on a bus or in a hotel room, it's easy to pull out whatever portable gaming device you have and just start playing a game. The problem is that if you're like me and prepare for these different scenarios with various wires, power banks and chargers, then you need a bag to sort everything out, which makes the Evergoods Civic Access Pouch that bag for me. 

What makes the Civic Access Pouch stand out from other tech travel bags is the structure, design and size. It's big enough to cram several different-length wires, power banks and controllers while having a rigid shape that's not busting at the seams and being able to stand up on a table to create a tidy place for everything. 

First off, the sizing. It's a 2-liter bag that measures 9.5 by 3.5 by 5.8 inches. Here's what I typically fill it with for trips:

• A 3-foot USB-C-to-Apple Watch charger cable
• A 45-watt 20,000-milliampere-hour power bank
• A travel power strip
• A three-port GaN charger

There's a lot of space for everything, and still a little more room for additional cables or chargers if I need them. 

So many tech pouches aren't much different than getting a Ziplock bag and stuffing it full of cables and other stuff. The Civic Access Pouch has a rigid, nylon structure in a perfect rectangular shape, which makes it ideal for packing. Whether you plan a month-long trip and need to power up several devices, or just a weekend trip and need to power your phone, it will hold the same shape that can fit snuggly in any backpack or suitcase. 

There's a second benefit to the structure, and that's the function of a "desk caddy." It stands solidly on its own. Keep it on a desk, unzip the top portion and it will stay in that open position for as long as you need it. It offers a clean and tidy aesthetic, which you can appreciate if you're going to stay in one room for an extended period of time. 

Lastly, the pouch's interior design adds to the tidy aesthetic. There are pockets of different sizes to put all your tech-accessory madness in order. There are drop-in pockets I use for my longer cables so they don't get twisted with the short ones. On the upper part of the pouch is a zippered divider where I keep a power strip and travel hub, as I don't need to access them as regularly as the other cables, chargers and power banks. But that's my system. You can come up with a whole different packing scheme that works for you and your accessories. 

I've used many different tech pouches when traveling, both bigger and smaller than the Civic Access Pouch. None of those bags had a design and structure that worked as well as this pouch. And that's whether I'm traveling or it's at home on my desk. I'm impressed with how this bag brings order to my cable mess, so much so that it's tempting to buy another just to have permanently at my apartment. If you plan on traveling with a lot of devices other than a phone, this is the tech bag is worth the cost.
