Netflix's 2026 Lineup Is Hot: New 'Stranger Things,' 'One Piece,' 'Bridgerton' and Much More
Aaron Pruner · 2026-01-07 · via CNET

Netflix revealed a peek at its 2026 lineup of movies, TV shows and live events on Wednesday. As I've said in previous years, this year's slate is filled to the brim with cool stuff -- and this isn't even all of it. The streamer says more titles will be announced later this year. As you'll see in the highlights section below, we'll have a number of fan-favorite TV series returning for new seasons. Netflix is also serving up an array of noteworthy movies and live events that are sure to pique your interest.

I'll cut to the chase -- you're here for the 2026 Netflix TV shows and movies that'll potentially be your next viewing obsession. Read on for all the highlights from today's announcement, but be sure to visit Tudum for an extended list.

TV Shows

This year, we'll be getting the fourth season of Bridgerton, which will be split up into two halves (dropping on Jan. 29 and Feb. 26, respectively) and the highly anticipated return of One Piece (titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line) on March 10. Emmy-winner Beef will premiere its second season on April 16, Lupin is back with a new installment and high-concept sci-fi series 3 Body Problem is also coming back for Season 2.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention The Duffer Brothers. The animated Stranger Things: Tales From '85 and spinoff series, The Boroughs, are set to hit streaming this year. And you thought this was the last time we visited the Upside Down. Silly goose.

Other noteworthy programs coming to Netflix in 2026 include:

  • Little House on the Prairie: The bold reimagining of the classic TV series, based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's popular books, is being described as "part fairy tale, part survival story, part family saga."
  • The Hunting Wives: The soapy drama soaked in blood and illicit affairs returns with a rift between Sophie and Margo. Will it last?
  • A Different World: This sequel series to the classic '80s sitcom follows Deborah Wayne, the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitney Gilbert, who heads to Hillman College for a fresh start, only to discover the legacy of her parents is harder to escape than she thought.
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender: The live-action adaptation of the popular anime returns, with the group rallying forces to battle the fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).
  • The Diplomat: The political drama returns for its fourth season.
  • The Night Agent: Peter Sutherland will risk his life once again while pursuing the truth. This time, he's tasked with finding a treasury agent who's wanted for murder, which leads to a tangled web involving money crimes and assassins.
  • East of Eden: It's been over 70 years since James Dean starred in the movie based on John Steinbeck's novel. Netflix's episodic reimagining will give a modern spin on the story. The series includes Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Hoon Lee and Martha Plimpton.
  • The Lincoln Lawyer: The fourth season of the legal drama finds Mickey Haller taking on the hardest case of his career, and he must prove he's innocent of murder. It premieres on Feb. 5.
  • Man on Fire: You remember the Denzel Washington movie about a troubled former CIA agent fighting for redemption? This new series, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, takes inspiration from A.J. Quinnell's Man on Fire book series, which inspired the film.
  • Outer Banks: The hit coming-of-age drama returns for its fifth and final season.
  • Pride and Prejudice: Another iconic piece of literature is getting the TV series treatment, this time with Jane Austen's classic novel. Emma Corrin, Olivia Colman and Jack Lowden star.
  • The Witcher: All good things come to an end, and that includes the adventures of Geralt of Rivia. The monster-hunting fantasy series will return in 2026 for its fifth and final season.
  • man and woman hold each other while talking to woman

Virgin River will also be back with its seventh season.

    Netflix

Movies

Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated adaptation of Narnia, based on the classic book by C.S. Lewis, is coming to Netflix this December (following an IMAX run in November).

Other noteworthy titles to look out for include Cillian Murphy's return to the world of Peaky Blinders in the movie Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (in theaters on March 6 before dropping on Netflix on March 20), the third Enola Holmes movie, Heartstopper Forever (continuing the story from the popular series) and the gritty cop actioner The Rip (starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) hits Netflix on Jan 16.

Want more? You got it:

  • Animals: Ben Affleck, Kerry Washington and Gillian Anderson star in this thriller about a couple on the hunt for their missing child. Affleck cowrote and directed the film.
  • Apex: Charlize Theron is back doing the action hero thing as a rock climber who goes head-to-head against a ruthless predator. Taron Egerton and Eric Bana costar. The movie premieres on April 24.
  • Good Sex: This romantic comedy, written and directed by Lena Dunham, stars Natalie Portman as a 40-year-old woman who reenters the dating scene and falls for a man younger than her -- as well as one who's older.
  • Here Comes the Flood: Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Danai Gurira star in this unconventional heist movie from writer Simon Kinberg.
  • Ladies First: Sacha Baron Cohen stars in this comedy about a man who wakes up in a parallel universe where women dominate society. Rosamund Pike, Charles Dance and Emily Mortimer also star. The movie drops in May.
  • The Mosquito Bowl: Peter Berg's World War II movie focuses on a group of football players-turned-Marines and a legendary game they played before heading to retaliate against Japan for its attack on Pearl Harbor.
  • Quasimodo: Vincent Cassel stars in this French romance reimagining the life of the man who inspired Victor Hugo's iconic character, Quasimodo. It's scheduled to premiere in the fall.
  • Remarkably Bright Creatures: Sally Field stars as Tova, an elderly widow, who forges an unlikely friendship with a giant octopus who lives at the aquarium where she works. The movie, based on the bestselling book of the same name, premieres on May 8.
  • Saturn Return: Rachel Brosnahan leads the cast of this romance that "explores love, loss and life's complicated turns" in the 10 years between college life and adulthood.
  • War Machine: Alan Ritchson stars in this sci-fi actioner that follows a group of US Army Rangers who face an otherworldly threat. It premieres on March 6.

Live events

Classic talent show Star Search is getting a rebrand and coming to Netflix on Jan. 20. The competition series will air live every Tuesday and Wednesday. Skyscraper Live will air on Jan. 23 and follow free soloist Alex Honnold as he attempts to climb one of the tallest buildings in the world.

The tennis event Six Kings Slam will hit the streamer in October, and live sports programming gets a boost with a collection of Major League Baseball games (MLB Opening Night on March 25, MLB T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 13 and MLB Field of Dreams Game on Aug. 13), along with NFL Christmas Gameday, which will return to Netflix for its third year.
