Father's Day will be here before you know it (it lands on Sunday, June 21 this year, right before Prime Day). We know Dad might just want some peace and quiet for Father's Day -- or a day to himself with no "to-do" lists where he can take a nap or just zone out. Dungeon Crawler Carl on Audible
I was late to the Dungeon Crawler Carl bandwagon, but listening to it on Audible pushed me all the way in. The narrator, Jeff Hays, brings all of the characters to life in a way that I wouldn't have thought possible for a single voice. Audible is currently the only way to experience the DCC universe in auditory form, and while the books are a fantastic read -- and available on Amazon for $45 for the set -- listening to them opens up the world in a new way.
Panasonic ErgoFit RP-TCM325 USB-C
There are plenty of inexpensive USB-C earbuds out there, but Panasonic has built on the legacy of its earlier ErgoFit buds to deliver a set of USB-C buds that stand out from the pack for sound quality and also serve up good voice calling performance. If you get a tight seal, they sound as good or better than wireless earbuds and headphones that cost more than $100.
Iniu SnapGo Air 10,000mAh
Sorting through Iniu's power bank offerings can be a bit confusing because it's hard to tell which one is the best. But as far as I can tell, the SnapGo Air 10,000mAh, which offers 25-watt wireless charging speeds in a slim form factor for a 10,000-mAh battery, is its best magnetic power bank as of April 2026. Aside from its ultrafast wireless charging speed, this power bank has two USB-C ports along with an integrated LED screen that shows remaining battery life. While it doesn't have an integrated USB-C cable for wired charging, the included lanyard stores a short USB-C cable, so it's easy to opt for 45-watt wired charging (or to charge the battery with the cable). In my tests, it charged a MacBook Air with the USB-C cable without issue. It can charge an iPhone 17 Pro almost twice (1.8 times).
Beer Drop
CNET culinary guru David Watsky tested five of the most popular monthly beer clubs, and Beer Drop landed on his list of the best beer delivery services -- he especially liked that Beer Drop lets you pick your own styles. This beer delivery service offers different plans, but with all of them, you can select the type of beer and specific beer styles that go into Dad's monthly craft beer subscription box shipments. Options include hoppy IPAs, fruit-forward beers, rich stouts, Belgian wheats and more.

Knockaround sunglasses
If you're on the hunt for a decent pair of budget sunglasses, Knockaround has various models, including those with polarized and mirrored coatings, for $35 and even slightly less (prices start as low as $28). They're not premium glasses obviously, but the lenses are decent and the glasses look more expensive than their low price would indicate. These designer sunglasses also seem pretty durable. Several different styles, colors and lens options are available.
Gerber Gear Armbar Drive multitool
Gerber makes some nice multitools and its Armbar Drive is one of its most compact models, featuring eight tools: a fine-edge blade, scissors, awl, two-sided 1/4-inch bit driver, pry bar, bottle opener and hammer, all made of stainless steel (the blade is is held securely with a frame lock). I got the burnt orange model. but it also comes in blue and onyx.
Zippo Bit Safe Screwdriver Insert
Ostensibly, Zippos are lighters. But lo and behold, you can you swap out the lighter element and turn your Zippo into a tool with this nifty insert, which features a magnetic, hex-shaped bit holder and includes No. 1 Phillips, No. 2 Phillips, No. 1/4 Flat and T20 Torx heads. If Dad doesn't already own a Zippo, they cost around $18, bringing your total gift to a little more than $30.
Roku Streaming Stick 4K
The Roku Streaming Stick 4K features the same simple interface, large app selection and impressive search function found on all Roku devices, but also offers Dolby Vision support. Along with a stick-like design, Dolby Vision HDR is the main difference between the Streaming Stick 4K and the Roku Streaming Stick Plus, and is ostensibly why the Streaming Stick 4K is more expensive than its sibling. While the Roku Streaming Stick Plus is a little cheaper, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is the one to get if Dolby Vision is important to you.
Oka Recovery Slide
Not to be confused with Hoka (which also makes a good pair of recovery slides on this list), Oka slides tend to be very cushiony and comfortable. Available in multiple colors, the Oka slides are slightly firmer than my Oofos Oohha slides and are also better with water. They have 35 mm of "buoyant foam," 12 cooling vents and "a wide upper that cradles without squeezing."
The company also touts the slides' "stabilizing deep heel cup that locks your foot in place."
But it's worth noting that most people should probably order a size down to get the best fit. I'm usually a size 10, but the slide that fit me well was the men's 9/women's 11. They had good arch support, too. Read my full review.

Soundcore by Anker Boom 2
The original Soundcore Motion Boom made our best Bluetooth speakers list and was one of the better mini boom box Bluetooth speaker values over the last few years, selling for around $80. The 3.75-pound Boom 2 costs more but sounds substantially better (read full review), with more than double the power rating of the original, so it not only plays louder but kicks out more bass and offers better clarity at higher volumes. It also has a couple of built-in LED lights to help create that party vibe. It's an impressive sounding speaker for its size and a good value.
Waterproof (IPX7-rated) with a floatable design, the speaker's battery life is rated at up to 24 hours at moderate volume levels and it charges via USB-C. You can tweak the sound and customize the lighting with the Soundcore app for iOS and Android. There's also a USB-out port to charge your devices.
GoCube Edge
Playing games with your kids can be incredibly rewarding, and so can playing games with just you. The GoCube gives you the chance to do both. I've always wanted to know how to complete a Rubik's cube but could never get the hang of it. The GoCube connects to your phone or tablet and takes you through the steps of solving a cube using "algorithms." It's the first time I've felt I had a handle on manipulating a puzzle cube without it being completely random.
Learning a new skill as a dad, especially one that can impress your kids, is always worthwhile, and the app even lets you play battle games with your kids to make it more family orientated
Logitech MX Anywhere 3S
Logitech positions the MX Anywhere 3S as a premium Bluetooth travel mouse as well as an everyday mouse for those with smaller hands (it's an ambidextrous mouse so you can use it with either your left or right hand). Weighing 95 grams, it's considerably lighter and smaller than Logitech's flagship MX Master 4 (150 grams), which also has an 8K DPI optical sensor and the quiet clicks feature, plus haptic feedback. It's also comfortable to use the buttons despite its small size and, perhaps most importantly, it can be used on just about any surface, including glass -- so don't worry about a mouse pad.
Solo Stove Mesa XL
Solo Stove makes some of the best smokeless fire pits, including the Ranger, Bonfire and Yukon backyard fire pits. But if you're looking for something a little smaller, it also makes a line of tabletop fire pits, including the Mesa and Mesa XL. Both come in several color options, including traditional stainless steel.
I started off using the smaller Mesa, but when the Mesa XL was subsequently released, I moved to the larger version of the mini fire pit (pictured on the left) because it looks and feels a little more substantial while remaining compact. (As you might expect, it does produce a bigger fire with a heat radius of 2 to 3 feet compared with the Mesa's 1 to 2 feet.)
As its name implies, the Mesa XL is designed to sit on a tabletop and is quite portable. Naturally, you could also set it on the ground, but when you put it on a table, it's at a good height for comfortably roasting marshmallows. It has the same 360-degree Signature Airflow system as Solo Stove's larger fire pits.
Hydro Flask French Press
Yes, you can buy cheaper French press coffee makers, but the Hydro Flask version is not only insulated, so it keeps your coffee hot longer, it's also made of stainless steel, so it's quite durable and won't break if you drop it, like a glass French press would.
For people who've never used a French press, you dump the coffee grounds into the container, pour in hot water, and then put the lid on with the plunger pulled up (there's a mesh filer attached to the plunger). Let things brew for several minutes and then push down the plunger. The grounds get compressed at the bottom as you squeeze out that extra flavor. You then pour as much coffee as you want into a cup or mug. What remains in the French press will stay hot for up to a couple of hours (and maybe even a bit longer), so you can go for a refill or share it with someone else.
Tribit Stormbox Micro 3
While Tribit's palm-size Stormbox Micro Bluetooth speakers have always had somewhat generic designs, they've managed to exceed my expectations for sound quality for their size. The third-generation Stormbox Micro 3 is still a little generic looking, but it adds a magnetic base and improves upon the acoustics of its predecessors, as well as doubling its battery life. A worthy upgrade, it earns a CNET Editors' Choice as a value pick in the micro speaker category, costing half the price of Bose's SoundLink Micro 2.
Ninja Blast
There are more-affordable portable blenders, like the Blendjet 2 and the Hamilton Beach Single-Serve, but the Ninja Blast, which lists for $70, is a step up from those models. It looks and feels more premium, and though it isn't superpowerful, it's a good option for making smoothies and protein shakes on the go or at home when you don't want to deal with a full-size blender. Additionally, you can drink right from the blender, as it has a leak-proof sip lid. Available in multiple color options and easy to operate, it has an 18 ounce-capacity and recharges via USB-C.
Creative Labs Pebble X
Creative Labs' Pebble speakers have long been a top budget pick for PC speakers. Creative went more upscale with its Pebble X USB-C speakers, which also come in a version called the Pebble X Plus with a mini subwoofer. Larger than previous Pebble speakers yet still compact enough to fit in a backpack, the audio quality is unexpectedly good and may just be the best PC speakers that cost less than $100.
JisuLife Pro1 Mini handheld fan
JisuLife makes a number of handheld fans, but if you don't want to spend too much, its Pro1 Mini model is a good value at around $60. It's finished in a faux leather material that has a nice grip to it and you can dial in the fan speed with a scroll wheel. There's a battery life indicator built into the back of the fan that also tells you the fan speed. It's fairly quiet at lower speeds up to around 50 percent but does get a little louder at higher speeds. I generally kept it at 50 percent to 60 percent.
Echo Show 5 (3rd generation)
Amazon's latest Echo Show 5 has a redesigned speaker system for better clarity and bass. The Alexa-powered smart display also has an improved microphone array onboard, and comes in pale blue, charcoal black and white.
Logitech MX Keys Mini
It's time to upgrade Dad's PC keyboard. Logitech's MX Keys is one of our favorite everyday Bluetooth keyboards, and it comes in two smaller versions that leave off the number pad and some other keys: MX Keys Mini and MX Keys Mini for Mac. Both cost around the same price as the standard MX Keys. Colors include rose, pale gray and graphite.
Best Father's Day gifts under $250
Shokz OpenFit Pro
Shokz wanted to equip its new flagship OpenFit Pro open earbuds with active noise cancellation, but that's not easy with open earbuds. Instead, it ended up dialing back expectations and calling the tech inside these new ear-hook style buds, "OpenEar Noise Reduction." It's a good thing it did because during time testing the OpenFit Pro, they didn't reduce ambient sound nearly as well as the Apple AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. But they sound impressive for open earbuds, are comfortable to wear and have the premium build quality you'd expect from a set of earbuds that cost $250.
Panasonic ER-GK80 body groomer
Dad may be a little embarrassed if you get him this gift but he'll most likely appreciate it. Panasonic says its ER-GK80-S has a unique V-shaped head that's "built to go everywhere" -- and with precision. It comes with two attachments, has almost two hours of battery life and can be used wet or dry. A travel case is included.
Sonos Era 100
With its newest multiroom smart speaker, Sonos wins some (Bluetooth, stereo sound) and loses some (Google Assistant). The Era 100 replaces the older One, and while the lack of Google is a real drag, the newer speaker is also better in terms of sound quality. And with the addition of a $19 adaptor, you can now add external sources for cheap.
Turtlebox Ranger
While the Ranger features very good sound for its size and puts up an admirable fight against other premium Bluetooth speakers like the Bose SoundLink Plus and JBL Charge 6, what really sets it apart is its design, especially its built-in magnets. I've tried a few other speakers with integrated magnets aimed at golfers and boaters, including the Rokform G-Rok ($100), but the Ranger plays louder and sounds better. Duer pants
Duer makes some of the best -- and most comfortable jeans and pants -- we've encountered. They're designed for both durability and stretchability and come in a variety of styles, with options for both slimmer and not-so-slim dads. Prices range from $79 to $149 for more weather-resistant models. The company also sells other garments, including shirts and shorts but it's more known for its "stretch" pants. Theragun Mini 3.0
We tested the Theragun Mini 2.0 and rated it our favorite mini massage gun, thanks to its compact size and surprisingly powerful performance. This third-generation version is slightly smaller but delivers the same powerful 1,750 to 2,400 percussions per minute. Although we also love the Theragun Elite -- it's our top-rated massage gun -- the Theragun Mini is more budget-friendly and perfect for taking on the go.
Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro series earbuds
Over the years, Anker Soundcore audio products have attracted a loyal following largely because they are good lower-cost alternatives to pricier offerings from premium brands like Apple, Bose and Sony. But I've felt Anker's earbuds have been a little disappointing the last few generations as they've failed to progress in a significant way and maybe even regressed in some cases. That's finally changed with its new Liberty 5 Pro ($170) and flagship Liberty 5 Pro Max ($230) earbuds, both of which are powered by a new AI chip developed by Anker. Bambu Lab A1 Combo
Starting a new hobby or giving your dad the chance to expand his hobbies is always cool. I love the A1 Combo 3D printer because it's a good price and lets me print in four colors. 3D printing is one of the fastest-growing hobbies in the US, and this is one of the best beginner printers out there. If your budget can't stretch that far, you can also opt for the smaller (but just as good) A1 Mini for about $100 less
Anker Nebula Mars 3 Air
A projector is one of the best gifts I've ever received and if Pops loves firing up a live concert video or action flick, there's no better way to make 'em pop than with a projector. This model is on our list of the best portable projectors, and it won a CNET Editors' Choice award. It's compact and portable so Dad can bring it on vacation or easily set it up outside for movie night.
Sony WH-1000XM6
The WH-1000XM6 are excellent for frequent travelers, remote workers and commuters who demand top-tier sound quality, noise canceling and call quality in a very comfortable headphone. If you can afford the high price, Dad will certainly appreciate this gift. Read my full review.
Amazon Kindle Scribe
A handful of competing stylus-equipped touchscreen E Ink e-readers that double as digital notepads are available from other companies, but the Kindle Scribe is the only front-lit 11-inch E Ink e-reader with a high-resolution 300ppi (pixels per inch) E ink display.
The Scribe's size and weight make it more of a burden to carry around, especially when you consider the smaller baseline Kindle can fit into a coat pocket. But in all, the Scribe strikes a very good balance between a large-format e-reader and an E Ink note-taking tablet. Folks will probably have some quibbles about the Scribe's high price, but you can get a 20% discount if you trade in an eligible Amazon device. Note that this Scribe has a monochrome display while the step-up Kindle Scribe Colorosoft has a color display. But that flagship Scribe costs $680.
JBL Boombox 4
JBL made its fourth-generation Boombox 4 more powerful than the Boombox 3, but the speaker is actually lighter than its predecessor (13 pounds versus 14.7 pounds), offers better battery life (up to 28 hours at moderate volume levels instead of 24 hours), charges significantly faster and has a higher waterproof rating (IP68 vs. IP67). It also has support for Auracast (Bluetooth 5.4), so you can link the Boombox 4 up with any of JBL's new Auracast-enabled speakers.
